Objective: Significant regional variation is known with multiple surgical procedures. This study describes regional variation in carotid revascularization within the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI).
Methods: Data from the VQI carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid artery stenting (CAS) databases from 2016 to 2021 were used.

Purpose: To evaluate the expansion effect of self-expandable stents during the first week after carotid artery stenting (CAS) procedure and to examine the variation of the effect according to the carotid plaque type.
Methods: Seventy stenotic carotid arteries of 69 patients were stented by using self-expanding Wallstents with diameters of 7 and 9 mm, after detection of stenosis and plaque type by Doppler ultrasonography. Post-stent aggressive ballooning was avoided and residual stenosis rates were measured with digital subtraction angiography.

Background: Poststent ballooning/angioplasty (post-SB) have been shown to increase the risk of stroke risk after transfemoral carotid artery stenting. With the advancement of transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) with dynamic cerebral blood flow reversal, we aimed to study the impact of post-SB during TCAR.
Methods: Patients undergoing TCAR in the Vascular Quality Initiative between September 2016 and May 2019 were included and were divided into three groups: those who received prestent deployment angioplasty only (pre-SB, reference group), those who received poststent deployment ballooning only (post-SB), and those who received both prestent and poststent deployment ballooning (prepost-SB).

Background: Restenosis after carotid revascularization is clinically challenging. Several studies have looked into the management of recurrent restenosis; however, studies looking into factors associated with restenosis are limited. This study evaluated the predictors of restenosis after carotid artery stenting (CAS) and carotid endarterectomy (CEA) using a large national database.
