Objective: Essential oil of Eucalyptus citriodora is a natural product which has been attributed for various medicinal uses. In the present investigation, E. citriodora essential oil was used to evaluate its antifungal effect against medically important dermatophytes.
Material And Methods: Essential oil from the Algerian E. citriodora leaves was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The antifungal effect of E. citriodora essential oil was evaluated against four dermatophytes: Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton rubrum using disc diffusion method, disc volatilization method, and agar dilution method.
Results: The chemical composition of the oil revealed the presence of 22 compounds accounting for 95.27% of the oil. The dominant compounds were citronellal (69.77%), citronellol (10.63%) and isopulegol (4.66%). The disc diffusion method, MIC and MFC determination, indicated that E. citriodora essential oil had a higher antifungal potential against the tested strains with inhibition zone diameter which varied from (12 to 90mm) and MIC and MFC values ranged from (0.6 to 5μL/mL and 1.25 to 5μL/mL) respectively. The M. gypseum was the most resistant to the oil.
Conclusion: The results of the present study indicated that E. citriodora essential oil may be used as a new antifungal agent recommended by the pharmaceutical industries.

The damaging effects of heavy metal exposure on vital organs like the heart, liver, kidneys, and brain can be lowered by natural compounds' anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant capacity. In the current investigation, the protective potential of savory()essential oil (EO) against lead acetate-induced multi-organ damage in rats was evaluated. Thirty female Wister Albino rats were divided into the following groups: normal, positive control given lead acetate without concomitant treatment, reference given ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid and groups treated with savory EO (0.

Background: Preserving plant genetic resources is essential for tackling global food security challenges. Effectively meeting future agricultural demands requires comprehensive and efficient assessments of genetic diversity in breeding programs and germplasm from gene banks. This research investigated the diversity of pheno-morphological traits, along with the fatty acid and tocopherol content and composition, in 135 double haploid lines of camelina.

Simultaneously hydrophilic and oleophobic surfaces offer substantial advantages for applications such as antifogging, self-cleaning, and oil-water separation. It remains challenging to engineer such surfaces without requiring polar functional groups. This study introduces HFIL, a novel ionic liquid (IL) coating that achieves simultaneous hydrophilic and oleophobic properties via a one-step dip-coating process without relying on polar functional groups.
