Case reports describe a patient with unusual or unexpected features. They represent the oldest type of medical publication. They are about generating a new hypothesis and not about proving a hypothesis. Hence, despite being considered as the lowest level of evidence; they continue to be relevant for clinical practice, research and medical education. This article intends to provide guidance regarding writing a case report to those wishing to make a foray in scientific writing through reporting an interesting case.

Patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) provide biologically relevant models and potential platforms for the development of treatment strategies for precision medicine in pancreatic cancer. Furthermore, circulating epithelial tumor cells (CETCs/CTCs) are released into the bloodstream by solid tumors and a rare subpopulation-circulating cancer stem cells (cCSCs) - is considered to be responsible for recurrence and plays a key role in metastasis. For the identification of cCSCs, an innovative in vitro assay to generate tumorspheres was established in this study.

The left-handed women in her 20s developed 'fast micrographia' after a traumatic brain injury from a traffic accident, showing bilateral subdural haematomas and frontal lobe contusions, but she had no paralysis and extrapyramidal symptoms. Neuropsychological tests showed reduced processing speed and memory deficits, aligning with frontal lobe damage.

Coping with the end of life decision making process in ICU, its complexity adds a challenge for the healthcare team: how to report in the medical record the events and reasoning that led to withholding or withdrawing treatments shifting from intensive to palliative care. Each healthcare team must select the best approach for managing the decision-making process and the necessary rules to ensure a correct clinical history narrative, indicating who must write and what has to be written. Taking into account the team organization, the report may be written not necessarily by the ICU director, but also by a staff physician as a spokesperson in the individual case.
