The literature shows a lack of significant research on the synthesis of large spherical PbTe quantum dots (QDs), particularly with controllable sizes and morphology. Here, we present for the first time a novel hot-injection method for the tunable, high-quality synthesis of cubooctahedral PbTe QDs within the size range of 10 nm to 16 nm. This method employs a combination of oleic acid (OA) with shorter carboxylic acids, including octanoic (OctA), decanoic (DA), and lauric acids (LA), tested at various volumetric ratios.

Cytokinesis in animal and fungal cells requires the contraction of actomyosin-based contractile rings formed in the division cortex of the cell during late mitosis. However, the detailed mechanism remains incompletely understood. Here, we aim to develop a novel cell-free system by encapsulating cell extracts obtained from fission yeast cells within lipid vesicles, which subsequently leads to the formation of a contractile ring-like structure inside the vesicles.

In this study, we prepared a porous scaffold made of polycaprolactone (PCL) and carbon quantum dots (CQDs), Fe, and Chitosan (Cs) as the scaffold core to cover the skin. Then evaluated antibacterial, biocompatibility, and wound healing properties as well as the expression of genes effective in wound healing.

Characterizing the expression of novel targets in normal and diseased tissues is a fundamental component of a target validation data package. Often these targets are presented to the pathology team for assessment with bulk or single-cell RNAseq data and limited to no spatial tissue expression data. hybridization to detect mRNA (RNAscope) is a valuable tool to (1) identify cells that may express the target protein and to corroborate protein expression during immunohistochemical (IHC) assay development or (2) to use as surrogate for single-cell expression IHC when antibodies are not available.

Rare genetic diseases (RGDs) affect a small percentage of the global population but collectively have a substantial impact due to their diverse manifestations. Although the precise reasons behind these diseases remain unclear, roughly 80% of cases are genetically linked. Recent efforts focus on understanding pathology and developing new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for RGDs.
