Background: The co-occurrence of Rathke cleft cysts (RCCs) and meningiomas in the sellar and parasellar regions represents an exceedingly rare clinical entity. Achieving maximal resection through a single operative approach while minimizing adverse events is challenging, often necessitating multiple surgical approaches, as suggested by previous reports.
Observations: The authors report the case of a 49-year-old female with a history of kidney transplant who presented with headaches and was diagnosed with coexisting RCC and meningioma in the sellar and planum sphenoidale regions, respectively.

Background: An increasingly large proportion of patients undergoing curative surgery for lung cancer, are octogenarians. We evaluated our short and long-term survival and adverse outcomes after oncological lung resections.
Methods: Octogenarians undergoing anatomical resection for confirmed or suspected lung cancer at a single-centre between January 2016 and December 2021 were included.

Background: Lung cancer represents a significant global health concern and constitutes the primary cause of cancer-related mortality. Complete surgical resection with curative intent remains the most efficacious treatment modality for improving the survival rate of patients with localized lung cancer. Average life expectancy has increased in many countries, and the number of older patients undergoing surgery has increased.

Unlabelled: Mitral annular calcification (MAC) is a chronic degenerative process involving the fibrous support structure of the mitral valve. The prevalence of this condition significantly increases with age, and is higher in patients with cardiovascular risk factors or end-stage renal disease. However, patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may develop atherosclerosis and MAC at a relatively young age.

Background: Preoperative assessment of lymph node status is critical in managing lung cancer, as it directly impacts the surgical approach and treatment planning. However, in clinical stage I lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), determining lymph node metastasis (LNM) is often challenging due to the limited sensitivity of conventional imaging modalities, such as computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography/CT (PET/CT). This study aimed to establish an effective radiomics prediction model using multicenter data for early assessment of LNM risk in patients with clinical stage I LUAD.
