Purposes: Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) and plasma cell-type idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (PC-iMCD) have many overlapping features. Their differential diagnosis is challenging and crucial for clinical management due to their different prognoses and treatments. However, reports that compare these conditions are scarce, especially for patients with lung involvement.

This case report discusses a case of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) initially presenting with lacrimal gland involvement and subsequently developing additional features. GPA is a disease known for inflammation in the respiratory tract and kidneys. A 63-year-old male patient presented with a mass, swelling, and ptosis in the right upper eyelid.

Background: This retrospective study explores two radiomics methods combined with other clinical variables for predicting recurrence free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with pulmonary metastases treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).

Methods: 111 patients with 163 metastases treated with SBRT were included with a median follow-up time of 927 days. First-order radiomic features were extracted using two methods: 2D CT texture analysis (CTTA) using TexRAD software, and a data-driven technique: functional principal components analysis (FPCA) using segmented tumoral and peri-tumoural 3D regions.

Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (EC) is one of the most common malignancies in the female reproductive system, characterized by tumor heterogeneity at both radiological and pathological scales. Both radiomics and pathomics have the potential to assess this heterogeneity and support EC diagnosis. This study examines the correlation between radiomics features from Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) maps and post-contrast T1 (T1C) images with pathomic features from pathology images in 32 patients from the CPTAC-UCEC database.

Mutations in Cholangiocarcinoma: Prevalence, Prognostic Value, and G12/G13 Detection in Cell-Free DNA.

Cancer Genomics Proteomics

December 2024

Centre for Research and Development of Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand;

Background/aim: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is an aggressive hepatobiliary malignancy characterized by genomic heterogeneity. KRAS mutations play a significant role in influencing patient prognosis and guiding therapeutic decision-making. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and prognostic significance of KRAS mutations in CCA, asses the detection of KRAS G12/G13 mutations in plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA), and evaluate the prognostic value of KRAS G12/G13 mutant allele frequency (MAF) in cfDNA in relation to clinicopathological data and patient survival.
