Smart, sensitive, simple and accurate spectrophotometric methods were developed and validated for the quantitative determination of a binary mixture of mebeverine hydrochloride (MVH) and chlordiazepoxide (CDZ) without prior separation steps via different manipulating pathways. These pathways were applied either on zero order absorption spectra namely, absorbance subtraction (AS) or based on the recovered zero order absorption spectra via a decoding technique namely, derivative transformation (DT) or via ratio spectra namely, ratio subtraction (RS) coupled with extended ratio subtraction (EXRS), spectrum subtraction (SS), constant multiplication (CM) and constant value (CV) methods. The manipulation steps applied on the ratio spectra are namely, ratio difference (RD) and amplitude modulation (AM) methods or applying a derivative to these ratio spectra namely, derivative ratio (DD(1)) or second derivative (D(2)). Finally, the pathway based on the ratio spectra of derivative spectra is namely, derivative subtraction (DS). The specificity of the developed methods was investigated by analyzing the laboratory mixtures and was successfully applied for their combined dosage form. The proposed methods were validated according to ICH guidelines. These methods exhibited linearity in the range of 2-28μg/mL for mebeverine hydrochloride and 1-12μg/mL for chlordiazepoxide. The obtained results were statistically compared with those of the official methods using Student t-test, F-test, and one way ANOVA, showing no significant difference with respect to accuracy and precision.

In this study, we analyzed purine derivatives using multimatrix variation matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI MS) with α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (CHCA), 1,5-diaminonaphtalene (DAN), 5-formylsalicylic acid (FSA), and 5-nitrosalicylic acid (NSA) as matrices. Further, we focused on the abstraction/attachment of hydrogen from/to analytes and detected [M - H], [M + 2H] and/or [M + 3H] in MALDI MS spectra of compounds containing nitrogen and/or carbonyl oxygen. Although [M - H] generation of purine compounds in MALDI MS with conventional matrices was challenging, NSA-MALDI MS effectively yielded the [M - H]species of purine derivatives compared with CHCA, FSA, and DAN, and the [M - H]/[M + H] ratios reflected their structures, such as the substituting groups and positions.

Microplastics (MPs) in nature inevitably undergo various aging processes and may exhibit varied interfacial interactions with the coexisted contaminants. Here several discarded disposable polyethylene and polypropylene plastic packaging materials were collected and employed as the raw materials of MPs, and the effects of stimulated UV irradiation and microbial colonization on the variations of surface physicochemical characteristics, including biofilm content, oxygen-containing functional groups, oxygen/carbon ratio, hydrophilicity and surface charge properties were explored. Simultaneously, the adsorption behavior of each MPs on the representative cationic dye crystal violet (CV), as well as the influences of salinity and pH of CV solution, was investigated.

Quantum magnetic materials can provide explicit realizations of paradigm models in quantum many-body physics. In this context, SrCu_{2}(BO_{3})_{2} is a faithful realization of the Shastry-Sutherland model for ideally frustrated spin dimers, even displaying several of its quantum magnetic phases as a function of pressure. We perform inelastic neutron scattering measurements on SrCu_{2}(BO_{3})_{2} at 5.

This study evaluates the deposition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) films with copper impurities on a glass substrate using simultaneous direct current (DC) and radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering. The structural, optical, electrical, and mechanical properties, as well as the surface topography of the films, were investigated under various DC power levels using Raman spectroscopy, ellipsometry, UV-VIS, I-V measurements, nanoindentation, AFM, and FESEM. Results indicate that increasing the DC power to the graphite target from 60 to 120 , while maintaining a constant 10 of RF power to the copper target, enhances the optical absorption coefficient of the films and increases the optical bandgap from 0.

Data-independent acquisition has become a widely used strategy for peptide and protein quantification in liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry-based proteomics studies. The integration of ion mobility separation into data-independent acquisition analysis, such as the diaPASEF technology available on Bruker's timsTOF platform, further improves the quantification accuracy and protein depth achievable using data-independent acquisition. We introduce diaTracer, a spectrum-centric computational tool optimized for diaPASEF data.
