High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is a key component of circulating blood and plays essential roles in regulation of vascular endothelial function and immunity. Clinical data demonstrate that HDL levels drop by 40-70% in septic patients, which is associated with a poor prognosis. Experimental studies using Apolipoprotein A-I (ApoAI) null mice showed that HDL deficient mice are susceptible to septic death, and overexpressing ApoAI in mice to increase HDL levels protects against septic death. These clinical and animal studies support our hypothesis that a decrease in HDL level is a risk factor for sepsis, and raising circulating HDL levels may provide an efficient therapy for sepsis. In this review, we discuss the roles of HDL in sepsis and summarize the efforts of using synthetic HDL as a potential therapy for sepsis.

To evaluate the comparative efficacy of Ticagrelor and Clopidogrel in treating patients with coronary heart disease and unstable angina, as well as their effects on serum inflammatory factors, thereby providing a solid foundation for future clinical diagnosis and treatment. The frequency of angina attacks in the Ticagrelor group was lower than in the Clopidogrel group (P<0.05).

Objective: Unexplained Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion (RSA) impacts the physical and psychological well-being of women of reproductive age. This study aimed to reveal the potential mechanisms behind unexplained RSA from the perspective of glucose and lipid metabolic profiles before conception and their relationship with immune, coagulation, and inflammatory markers.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 100 patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion at our gynecology department from June 2022 to June 2023.

Objective: Proprotein convertase subtilisin-kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors are a standard therapy for patients who respond poorly to or cannot tolerate statins. However, identifying responders to PCSK9 inhibitors remains unclear. This study investigates the characteristics of patients who achieve target LDL-C reduction (< 70 mg/dl) after PCSK9 inhibitor therapy.

Background: Surrogate insulin resistance (IR) indices are simpler and more practical alternatives to insulin-based IR indicators for clinical use. This study explored the association between surrogate IR indices, including triglyceride-glucose index (TyG), triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI), triglyceride glucose-waist circumference (TyG-WC), triglyceride glucose-waist to height ratio (TyG-WHtR), metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR), and the triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio, and coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Methods: Patients with T2D were enrolled in this study and divided into two groups, matched for age and diabetes duration: those with CAD and those without CAD.

Background And Aims: The associations between screen time exposure, blood lipids, and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) incidence have been less studied. We aimed to examine the associations of exposure to screen time with blood total cholesterol (TC), HDL-C, LDL-C, triglycerides (TG), apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1), apolipoprotein B (ApoB), and ASCVD risk score, and risk of subsequent ASCVD incidence.
Methods And Results: A nationwide sample of 7124 China Health and Nutrition Survey 2009 participants were followed up to 2015 for ASCVD incidence.
