Aim: For middle fossa acoustic neuroma approach, retractors are needed to elevate the temporal lobe to be able to access the internal auditory meatus. The temporal lobe hosts the primary and secondary auditory fields. The question arises regarding whether this elevation affects the functionality of the auditory cortex.
Material And Methods: In patients, who underwent acoustic neuroma surgery, contralateral speech discrimination was tested pre- and postsurgery using different speech discrimination tests. Results of patients with a middle fossa approach were compared with patients with a translabyrinthine approach.
Results: No major differences between the translabyrinthine and the middle fossa approach could be detected.
Conclusion: Elevation of the temporal lobe during middle fossa approach for acoustic neuroma surgery does not lead to short-term impaired contralateral speech discrimination compared with translabyrinthine approach.

Objective: To investigate the independent risk factors for short-term mortality in patients with spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage (SCH) based on Mimics software of medical image control system.
Methods: The clinical data of SCH patients treated at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January, 2010 to December, 2021 was retrospectively analyzed and compared, including gender, age, underlyin g diseases, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and blood pressure at admission, laboratory indicators, imaging data, and short-term (3 weeks after onset) survival status. The imaging examination parameters were accurately calculated using Mimics software, including hematoma volume, longest diameter, and maximum cross-sectional area of cerebellar hemorrhage.

Background And Objectives: The middle fossa approaches are tremendously versatile for treating small vestibular schwannomas, selected petroclival meningiomas, midbasilar trunk aneurysms, and lesions of the petrous bone. Osimertinib has emerged as the standard first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR mutations, offering improved tolerability and demonstrating superior efficacy against brain metastases in comparison with other tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The Meckel's cave is a dural recess in the posteromedial part of the middle cranial fossa that acts as a conduit for the trigeminal nerve between the anterior pontine cisterna and the cavernous sinus, and houses the Gasserian ganglion and proximal radicle of the trigeminal nerve. Trigeminal neuropathy, characterized by numbness and dysesthesia of the skin and mucous membranes of the face, poses diagnostic challenges and often requires differentiation from conditions, such as compression neuropathy, inflammation, and drug-induced reactions.
