Background: There is limited evidence to inform exercise prescription for deep neck flexor activation out of supine.
Objective: To compare activation of longus colli (LC) and sternocleidomastoid (SCM) from supine to sitting, and to compare the effect of craniocervical flexion (CCF) exercises in sitting on activation.
Methods: Twenty-four individuals without neck pain (mean age 28.

One of the challenging problems in the research and development of vibration sensors relates to the formation of Ohmic contacts for the removal of an electrical signal. In some cases, it is proposed to use arrays of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), which can serve as highly elastic electrode materials for vibration sensors. The purpose of this work is to study the effect of a current-collecting layer of CNTs grown over silicon on the properties of a lead zirconate titanate (PZT) film, which is frequently employed in mechanical vibration sensors or energy harvesters.

The key structural components of a wind turbine blade, such as the skin, spar cap, and shear web, are fabricated from fiber-reinforced composite materials. The spar, predominantly manufactured via resin infusion-a process of resin injection and curing in carbon fibers-is prone to initial defects, such as pores, wrinkles, and delamination. This study suggests employing the pultrusion technique for spar production to consistently obtain a uniform cross-section and augment the reliability of both the manufacturing process and the design.

With increasing mining depth, the coal pillars of a coal mine will be in a stressful environment characterized by high gas pressures and unidirectional loading. To investigate the damage evolution characteristics and energy evolution mechanism of coal pillars loaded in a gas pressure environment, a uniaxial compression test was performed on a coal body under different gas pressures using a load testing apparatus for gas-containing coal rocks. The obtained results showed that the mechanical properties of the coal body varied with the gas pressure.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and chronic kidney disease are global public health issues associated with high morbidity and mortality. Both diseases are also interlinked. Little is known about the meaning of NAFLD in hemodialysis (HD) patients.
