There is a lack in understanding the reasons for different lengths of sick leave in patients who sustain ankle fractures. The aim of this study is to examine variations in the length of sick leave in ankle fracture patients and how treatment, type of ankle fracture and the patient-reported outcome are associated with the length of sick leave. In this study were data from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) and the Swedish Fracture Register (SFR), combined.

Methods: We distributed a total of 20 000 questionnaires using the multistage stratified cluster random sampling method, and successfully collected 19 460 of them. After conducting quality checks, we deemed 19 040 questionnaires valid for analysis.

Background: Gastric bezoars are indigestible masses that can lead to gastrointestinal obstruction and ulceration. Standard treatments include endoscopic mechanical lithotripsy with a polypectomy snare and Coca-Cola dissolution therapy or a combination of both approaches. However, giant bezoars frequently require multiple treatment sessions and extended hospital stays.

Background: There is no consensus regarding the optimal regimen for metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (dmNPC). Locoregional intensity modulated radiotherapy (LRRT) following palliative chemotherapy (PCT) has been shown to prolong the overall survival (OS) and improve the progression-free survival (PFS) of patients with dmNPC, compared with PCT alone. However, patients with a high tumor burden do not benefit from additional LRRT, which inevitably results in toxicity.
