Nuclear localization of translocation partners in differentiating B-cells.

We studied the nuclear localization and relative position in the nuclear space of malignant translocation partner genes c-Myc, CCND1, and IGH locus in naive and differentiating B cells. We have shown that, during B-cell maturation, c-Myc and IGH loci become closer to each other. In differentiating lymphocytes, those alleles of c-Myc and IGH that are in close spatial proximity to each other are closer to the nucleolus. For the CCND1 locus, no correlation between the proximity of loci and nuclear localization was found. These data suggest that the close spatial proximity of c-Myc and IGH loci during B-cell maturation increase the probability of malignant translocation.

Understanding subsurface temperature variations is crucial for assessing material degradation in underground structures. This study maps subsurface temperatures across the contiguous United States for depths from 50 to 3500 m, comparing linear interpolation, gradient boosting (LightGBM), neural networks, and a novel hybrid approach combining linear interpolation with LightGBM. Restoring rotational symmetry of multicomponent wavefunctions with nuclear orbitals.

In this work, we present a non-orthogonal configuration interaction (NOCI) approach to address the rotational corrections in multicomponent quantum chemistry calculations where hydrogen nuclei and electrons are described with orbitals under Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) frameworks. The rotational corrections are required in systems such as diatomic (HX) and nonlinear triatomic molecules (HXY), where localized broken-symmetry nuclear orbitals have a lower energy than delocalized orbitals with the correct symmetry. By restoring rotational symmetry with the proposed NOCI approach, we demonstrate significant improvements in proton binding energy predictions at the HF level, with average rotational corrections of 0.
