Prior research has established an association between sexual violence and HIV. Exposure to sexual violence during childhood can profoundly impact brain architecture and stress regulatory response. As a result, individuals who have experienced such trauma may engage in sexual risk-taking behavior and could benefit from targeted interventions. In 2009, nationally representative data were collected on violence against children in Tanzania from 13-24 year old respondents (n=3,739). Analyses show that females aged 19-24 (n=579) who experienced childhood sexual violence, were more likely to report no/infrequent condom use in the past 12 months (AOR=3.0, CI [1.5, 6.1], p=0.0017) and multiple sex partners in the past 12 months (AOR=2.3, CI [1.0, 5.1], p=0.0491), but no more likely to know where to get HIV testing or to have ever been tested. Victims of childhood sexual violence could benefit from targeted interventions to mitigate impacts of violence and prevent HIV.

Background: Military sexual trauma (MST) has been linked to a range of negative mental health outcomes-posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) most notably. This article uses a causal inference framework based on the Rubin Causal Model to investigate the relationship between MST exposure and PTSD symptom severity.
Methods: Using data from 2488 treatment-seeking veterans and service members, we reconstructed a hypothetical randomized control trial consisting of a group with MST exposure and one without.

This study engages with the abhorrent phenomenon of corrective rape as a form of sexual violence employed by perpetrators in an alleged attempt to 'correct' lesbians from their sexual orientation. It focuses on experiences in South African townships and the harrowing realities of Black lesbians who are regularly confronted with this act of sexual violence. Through critical analysis, this study demonstrates how heteronormative gender hierarchies and patriarchal cultural norms fuel the perpetration of corrective rape within these communities.

Objectives: To analyze the independent influencing factors of intimate partner homicide (IPH) cases, construct an IPH prediction model, and provide a basis for criminal profiling.
Methods: A total of 476 convicted homicide cases in Guangdong Province from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2020, were collected as modeling dataset. They were divided into the IPH group (=180) and the non-intimate partner homicide (N-IPH) group (=296) based on whether the offender and victim were intimate partners.
