Urethral stricture (US) is a common clinical condition in urology, characterized by high prevalence and morbidity across all ages. Current treatments for US, such as urethral dilatation and internal urethrotomy, fail to fully resolve the condition and are associated with high rates of recurrence and complications. Additionally, the pathogenesis of US is not well understood.

The arcing-involved pulsating coagulation mode with both active and blank periods is essential for modern electrosurgery. This paper begins with a comprehensive introduction to such a pulsating mode, followed by its implementation challenges. Then, an industrial-scale low-speed microcontroller unit (MCU), TMS320F28379D, is utilized to exemplify the proposed output sampling and data-transferring strategy on a gallium nitride (GaN)-based high-frequency inverter that enables coagulation mode with interweaved active periods and blank periods.

Introduction: Electrosurgical unit (ESU) is integral to the endoscopy unit. The proper knowledge of the Mode with setting is essential for good therapeutic outcomes and the safety of the patients.
Areas Covered: ESU generates high-frequency electric current, which could perform cutting and coagulation for various therapeutic interventions.

In human ophthalmology, the benefits of using high-frequency radiowave (HFR) electrocautery for surgical procedures were demonstrated and include effective haemostasis, shorter surgery times, and rapid recovery. In canine eyelid surgery, intraoperative bleeding is a common feature that may obscure the surgical field view and lead to the increased swelling of adjacent tissues, bruising, and pain. To evaluate the efficacy and benefits of HFR electrocautery in canine eyelid and third eyelid surgery, the medical records of 48 surgical excisions of eyelid tumours (involving up to one-third of the eyelid length) and 4 third eyelid excisions were reviewed.
