Background: Head and neck sarcomas are exceedingly rare and they include 4% - 10% of all sarcomas and less than 1% of all neoplasm of head and neck.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the epidemiological characteristics of head and neck sarcomas of patients in Isfahan, Iran.
Patients And Methods: In this retrospective study, from the 16000 patients whose files were evaluated, the total number of 105 head and neck sarcomas were collected. They were evaluated with due attention to age, gender of the patients and the most common location of the lesion.
Results: From the total number of 105 (0.6%) patients with sarcomas, 56 were men (53.33%) and 49 women (46.66%). The most common head and neck sarcomas among this population were Osteosarcoma (32 cases, 30.47%), Chondrosarcoma (14 cases, 13.33%), and Ewing sarcoma (11 cases, 10.47%).The most common soft tissue sarcoma was Rabdomiosarcoma. Mandible was the most common location for these lesions.
Conclusions: In this study, the hard tissue sarcomas were more prevalent than soft tissue ones. Hence, special attention should be paid to the patients when being diagnosed.

Background: Incidence data on Facial Nerve Disorders (FND) and Bell's palsy are currently limited. Prior epidemiological studies have estimated the incidence rate of Bell's palsy to be between 11 and 53/100,000 individuals, although the most cited incidence data are from single regions or municipalities, many of which are outdated from several decades ago.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of US adults from 2007 to 2022 using the Merative™ Marketscan® Research Databases.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a type of head and neck cancer (HNC) with a high recurrence rate, which has been reported to be associated with the presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs). Tribbles pseudokinase 3 (TRIB3) is involved in intracellular signaling and the aim of the present study was to investigate the role of TRIB3 in the maintenance of CSCs. Analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas database samples demonstrated a positive correlation between TRIB3 expression levels and shorter overall survival rates in patients with HNC.

Human papillomavirus (HPV)‑positive and -negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are often associated with activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3‑kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway due to mutations or amplifications in , loss of or activation of receptor tyrosine kinases. In HPV‑negative tumors, (encoding p16 protein) inactivation or (encoding Cyclin D1 protein) amplification frequently results in sustained cyclin‑dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 activation. The present study aimed to investigate the efficacy of the CDK4/6 inhibitors (CDKi) palbociclib and ribociclib, and the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibitors (PI3Ki) gedatolisib, buparlisib and alpelisib, in suppressing cell viability of HPV‑positive and ‑negative HNSCC cell lines.

Background: Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) plays an important role in mediating the type-2-inflammatory response. This study examined how TSLP and interleukin (IL)-4 levels in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) correlated with clinical and postoperative outcomes.
Methods: Solid-phase sandwich ELISA was used to analyze TSLP and IL-4 levels in mucus (n = 47), plasma (n = 17), polyp (n = 30), inferior (n = 25), and middle (n = 26) turbinate tissue collected during functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) in CRSwNP patients (n = 76) and controls (n = 11).

Objective: This study aims to present a case of temporal bone (TBP) paraganglioma with an insidious clinical presentation, deviating significantly from the typical hearing loss and pulsatile tinnitus pattern.
Methods: A 70-year-old lady presented to the emergency department with a five-day history of right progressive later cervical swelling extending to the mastoid region and chronic worsening purulent otorrhea. The clinical and radiological findings confirmed the presence of a chronic middle ear process complicated by a Bezold abscess.
