Alcohols and alkenes are the most abundant and commonly used organic building blocks in the large-scale chemical synthesis. Herein, this is the first time to report a novel and operationally simple coupling reaction of vinylarenes and aliphatic alcohols catalyzed by manganese in the presence of TBHP (tert-butyl hydroperoxide). This coupling reaction provides the oxyalkylated products of vinylarenes with good regioselectivity and accomplishes with the principles of step-economies. A possible reaction mechanism has also been proposed.

Herein, we present a highly efficient allylic substitution of carbonates with Grignard reagents using a reusable cellulose-supported nanocopper catalyst. This approach highlights the first instance of heterogeneous catalysis for the cross-coupling of allylic alcohol substrates with Grignard reagents. The method features high yields, excellent regioselectivity, and complete chirality transfer.

Organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) are widely used in agricultural production, posing a great threat to human health and the environment. Given that different OPs present different toxicology and toxicities, identifying individual pesticide residues becomes important for assessing food safety and environmental implications. In this work, a kinetics difference-driven analyte hydrolysis strategy is proposed for the first time and validated to identify -nitrophenyl pesticides by developing an organophosphorus hydrolase-like nanozyme-coded sensor array.

Morphine dependence or addiction is a serious global public health and social problem, and traditional treatments are very limited. Deep brain stimulation (DBS) has emerged as a new potential treatment for drug addiction. Repeated use of morphine leads to neuroadaptive and molecular changes in the addiction-related brain regions.

The thermocatalytic hydrogenation of CO2 to ethanol has attracted significant interest because ethanol offers ease of transport and substantial value in chemical synthesis. Here, we present a state-of-the-art catalyst for the CO2 hydrogenation to ethanol achieved by precisely depositing single-atom Ir species on P cluster islands situated on the In2O3 nanosheets. The Ir1-Px/In2O3 catalyst achieves an impressive ethanol yield of 3.

The SiO electrode interface is passivated with a SiO layer, which hinders the deposition of an inorganic solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) due to its high surface work function and low exchange current density of electrolyte decomposition. Consequently, a thermally vulnerable, organic-based SEI formed on the SiO electrode, leading to poor cycling performance at elevated temperatures. To address this issue, the SEI formation process is thermoelectrochemically activated.
