We performed a complete study of angle noncritical phase-matched second-harmonic generation in BaGa4Se7 in the mid-infrared region. We measured the dielectric frame orientation and showed that it does not rotate as a function of wavelength. We determined the phase-matching wavelengths and the associated spectral and angular acceptances along the x and y axes of the dielectric frame. We also estimated the magnitude of the nonlinear coefficients involved.

Therapeutic proteins suffer from physical and chemical instability in aqueous solution. Polysorbates and poloxamers are often added for protection against interfacial stress to prevent protein aggregation and particle formation. Previous studies have revealed that the hydrolysis and oxidation of polysorbates in parenteral formulations can lead to the formation of free fatty acid particles, insufficient long-term stabilization, and protein oxidation.

Rock strength is imperative for the design and stability analysis of engineering structures. The Mohr-Coulomb (M-C) criterion holds significant prominence in geotechnical engineering. However, the M-C criterion fails to accurately capture the nonlinear strength response and neglects the critical state of rocks, potentially leading to inaccuracies in the design phase of deep engineering projects.

Theoretical analysis indicated that partially deuterated ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (DADP) crystal with a deuterium content of 23% could realize spectral noncritical phase-matching (S-NCPM) for type-I frequency doubling of an Nd:glass laser. To explore the temperature dependence of the phase matching (PM) angle of the second harmonic generation (SHG) process and the output SHG bandwidth of DADP crystal at 1.053 μm, we used the point-seed rapid-growth method to grow targeted DADP crystal with 23% deuterium content.

Body composition and phase angle (PhA) have been used to predict mortality in multiple diseases. However, little has been studied regarding segmental measurements, which could potentially help assess subtle changes in specific tissue segments. This study aimed to identify the total PhA cut-off point associated with mortality risk and changes in body composition within a week of hospitalisation in non-critical hospitalised patients with COVID-19.

Objective: Bioelectrical impedance-derived phase angle (PA) has exhibited good prognostic values in several non-critical illnesses. However, its predictive value for critically ill patients remains unclear. Thus, we aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the relationship between PA and survival in such a patient population.
