Physicians are often presented with patients complaining of facial redness and difficult to control rosacea. The water soluble sodium copper chlorophyllin complex has been shown to have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial activities in vitro and anti-redness, pore reduction, and anti-acne activities in pilot clinical studies. In these case studies, the safety and efficacy of a topical gel containing a liposomal suspension of sodium copper chlorophyllin complex was assessed in subjects with facial redness and erythematotelangiectatic rosacea.

Copper Tantalate by a Sodium-Driven Flux-Mediated Synthesis for Photoelectrochemical CO Reduction.

Small Methods

January 2025

Liquid Sunlight Alliance, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, 1 Cyclotron Rd, Berkeley, CA, 94720, United States.

Copper-tantalate, CuTaO (CTO), shows significant promise as an efficient photocathode for multi-carbon compounds (C) production through photoelectrochemical (PEC) CO reduction, owing to its suitable energy bands and catalytic surface. However, synthesizing CTO poses a significant challenge due to its metastable nature and thermal instability. In this study, this challenge is addressed by employing a flux-mediated synthesis technique using a sodium-based flux to create sodium-doped CTO (Na-CTO) thin films, providing enhanced nucleation and stabilization for the CTO phase.

Facile one-pot reduction of β-nitrostyrenes to phenethylamines using sodium borohydride and copper(II) chloride.

Beilstein J Org Chem

January 2025

Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Universitetsparken 2, 2100 København Ø, Denmark.

Phenethylamines and phenylisopropylamines of scientific relevance can be prepared with a NaBH/CuCl system in 10 to 30 minutes via reduction of substituted β-nitrostyrenes. This one-pot procedure allows the quick isolation of substituted β-nitrostyrene scaffolds with 62-83% yield under mild conditions, without the need for special precautions, inert atmosphere, and time-consuming purification techniques.

This study investigates levels of cuproptosis markers in Wilson disease (WD) and their role in the occurrence and development of WD. We retrospectively collected clinical data from 76 patients with Leipzig score ≥ 4 hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to September 2023. The participants were given copper chelators (sodium dimercaptosulphonate (20 mg·kg-1), 4 courses of treatment, 32 days).

This study investigates the nutritional and anti-nutrient profiles of extrudates produced from seven formulations of pearl millet and Bambara groundnut flour in seven different ratios: 20:80, 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40, 70:30, and 80:20, with 100% pearl millet and 100% Bambara groundnut extrudates used as controls. The extrudates were processed using a twin screw extruder and analyzed for their nutritional and anti-nutritional properties. The findings revealed a rising pattern in the content of fiber, moisture, protein, ash and fat as the substitution of Bambara groundnut increased in the extrudate.

Objectives: The high incidence of coronary artery heart disease (CHD) poses a significant burden and challenge to public health systems globally. Effective prevention and early diagnosis of CHD have become key strategies to alleviate this burden. This study aims to explore the application of advanced machine learning techniques to enhance the accuracy of early screening and risk assessment for CHD.
