Bond activation of silyl compounds, assisted by the cooperative action of non-coordinating anions, is achieved using Cu(I) complexes coordinated with a PNP-pincer type phosphaalkene ligand, [Cu(X)(BPEP-Ph)] (X = PF6 (1a), SbF6 (1b); BPEP-Ph = 2,6-bis[1-phenyl-2-(2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenyl)-2-phosphaethenyl]pyridine). Complexes 1a and 1b react with Me3SiCN to form Me3SiF and Cu(i) cyanide complexes of the formula [Cu(CN-EF5)(BPEP-Ph)] (E = P (2a), Sb (2b)), in which the CN ligand is associated with the EF5 group arising from EF6(-). Formation of the intermediary isonitrile complex [Cu(CNSiMe3)(BPEP-Ph)](+)SbF6(-) (3b) is confirmed by its isolation. Thus, a two-step reaction process involving coordination of Me3SiCN, followed by nucleophilic attack of SbF6(-) on the silicon atom of 3b is established for the conversion of 1b to 2b. Complex 1b cleaves the H-Si bond of PhMe2SiH as well. The isolation and structural identification of [Cu(BPEP-Ph)](+)BAr(F)4(-) (1c) (BAr(F)4 = B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4) as a rare example of a T-shaped, three-coordinated Cu(i) complex is reported.

We present a strategy for enhancing Li conduction in block copolymer electrolytes by introducing trace amounts of Li salts into polystyrene--poly(ethylene oxide) (PS--PEO), wherein Li ions preferentially coordinate with the -OH end groups of the PEO chains, resulting in the formation of double primitive cubic (3̅) structures. Compared with TFSI anions in Li salts, smaller anions (PF and BF) could facilitate ion localization more effectively, expanding the salt concentration range for developing stable 3̅ structures. The 3̅ structures formed in PS--PEOs doped with LiBF at = 0.

As novel promising anticancer candidates, the piano-stool type complexes of ruthenium, [RuCl(η-p-cymene)(N,S-L)]PF, K-, were synthesized from the reaction of the substituted benzo[b]thiophene based thiosemicarbazone ligands (L) with [{RuCl(η-p-cymene)}(μ-Cl)]. All complexes were fully characterized using elemental analysis, and spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR and H NMR. The molecular masses of the complexes were proved by MALDI-TOF analysis.

This paper provides extensive studies of [IrCl(Ph-py)(morph-CH-terpy-κN)]PF (), [Ir(Ph-py)(morph-CH-terpy-κN)]PF (), [IrCl(Ph-py)(Ph-terpy-κN)]PF (), and [Ir(Ph-py)(Ph-terpy-κN)]PF () designed to demonstrate the possibility of controlling the photophysical properties of mono- and bis-cyclometalated complexes [IrCl(Ph-py)(R-CH-terpy-κN)]PF and [Ir(Ph-py)(R-CH-terpy-κN)]PF through a remote electron-donating substituent introduced into the 4'-position of 2,2':6',2″-terpyridine (terpy) via the phenyl linker. The attachment of the morpholinyl (morph) group was evidenced to induce dramatic changes in the emission characteristics of the monocyclometalated Ir(III) systems with coordinated R-CH-terpy ligand (κN). In solution, the obtained complex [IrCl(Ph-py)(morph-CH-terpy-κN)]PF was found to be a rare example of dual-emissive Ir(III) systems.

Polynuclear Au(I) cluster photocatalysts, known for their high activity and stability, hold substantial potential in organic synthetic chemistry. This study synthesized two Au(I) supramolecular cluster catalysts with different nuclearities: a tetranuclear cluster, C1 ([(dppmAu2)2L1]•PF6-), and a hexadecanuclear cluster, C2 [(dppmAu2)6(Au4)(L1)4]•4PF6-, through a multicomponent stepwise self-assembly approach. Both cluster structures feature aurophilicity interaction motifs that endow them with exceptional photocatalytic performance, exhibiting optical band gaps of 2.

Bimetallic catalysts have gained attention as promising contenders, owing to the synergistic interaction between two distinct metal centers. In this study, we present two N-heterocyclic carbene iridium(III) pentamethylcyclopentadienyl complexes [Cp*Ir(fcpyNHC)Cl]PF6 (1) and [Cp*Ir(pyNHC)Cl]PF6 (2) where 1 includes a ferrocene moiety acting as a bimetallic complex. Using ceric ammonium nitrate as a sacrificial oxidant, both complexes were tested for water oxidation.
