Orthotopic heart transplant (OHT) is a well-established therapy for end-stage heart failure that leads to improved long-term survival rates, with careful allograft surveillance essential for optimizing clinical outcomes after OHT. Unfortunately, complications can arise after OHT that can compromise the success of the OHT. Cardiac MRI is continually evolving, with a range of advanced techniques that can be applied to evaluate allograft structure and function.

Cellular plasticity, the remarkable adaptability of cancer cells to survive under various stress conditions, is a fundamental hallmark that significantly contributes to treatment resistance, tumor metastasis, and disease recurrence. Oncogenes, the driver genes that promote uncontrolled cell proliferation, have long been recognized as key drivers of cellular transformation and tumorigenesis. Paradoxically, accumulating evidence demonstrates that targeting certain oncogenes to inhibit tumor cell proliferation can unexpectedly induce processes like epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), conferring enhanced invasive and metastatic capabilities.

Microorganisms in eutrophic water play a vital role in nitrogen (N) removal, which contributes significantly to the nutrient cycling and sustainability of eutrophic ecosystems. However, the mechanisms underlying the interactions and adaptation strategies of the N removal microorganisms in eutrophic ecosystems remain unclear. We thus analyzed field sediments collected from a eutrophic freshwater ecosystem, enriched the N removal microorganisms, examined their function and adaptability through amplicon, metagenome and metatranscriptome sequencing.
