Three new hypogean species of the Iberian genus Roncocreagris Mahnert, 1974 are described from mainland Portugal: R. borgesi sp. nov. and R. gepesi sp. nov. from caves in the Sicó massif, and R. occidentalis sp. nov. from caves in the Montejunto and Cesaredas karst plateau. This brings to nine the number of known hypogean species of the mostly Iberian genus Roncocreagris: five from Portugal and four from Spain. Ecological comments and new localities for some of the previously known species are also included.

With 14 species, Meigen, 1822 is a scarce and small genus of hoverflies (Diptera: Syrphidae: Rhingiini) from the Holarctic Region. Apart from the finding of larvae of () (Shiraki, 1956) in fungi in Japan, the larval biology of these hoverflies is virtually unknown. The early stages of all species are undescribed.

Recently described cave species of the genus have been discovered in southwestern China, suggesting that the diversity of the genus is severely underestimated and that there may be many undescribed species. In this work, four new species of the genus are described from southwestern Guizhou Province, China, namely Luo, Mao, Zhao, Xiao & Zhou, and Mao, Zhao, Yu, Xiao & Zhou, from Rongdu Town, Ceheng County, Guizhou, Yu, Luo, Lan, Xiao & Zhou, from Hongguo Town, Panzhou City, Guizhou, and Song, Luo, Lan, Zhao, Xiao & Zhou, from Xinglong Town, Anlong County, Guizhou. These four new species can be distinguished from all recognized congeners by a combination of morphological characteristics and significant genetic divergences.
