Previous studies in rabbits identified an array of extrastriate cortical areas anatomically connected with V1 but did not describe their internal topography. To address this issue, we injected multiple anatomical tracers into different regions in V1 of the same animal and analyzed the topography of resulting extrastriate labeled fields with reference to the patterns of callosal connections and myeloarchitecture revealed in tangential sections of the flattened cortex. Our results extend previous studies and provide further evidence that rabbit extrastriate areas resemble the visual areas in rats and mice not only in their general location with respect to V1 but also in their internal topography. Moreover, extrastriate areas in the rabbit maintain a constant relationship with myeloarchitectonic borders and features of the callosal pattern. These findings highlight the rabbit as an alternative model to rats and mice for advancing our understanding of cortical visual processing in mammals, especially for projects benefiting from a larger brain.

Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have improved the therapeutic arsenal in outpatient oncology care; however, data on necessity of hospitalizations associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are scarce. Here, we characterized hospitalizations of patients undergoing ICI, from the prospective cohort study of the immune cooperative oncology group (ICOG) Hannover.
Methods: Between 12/2019 and 06/2022, 237 patients were included.

Background: To investigate the relevance of hyperperfusion on computerised perfusion imaging (CTP) in the emergency setting in people with non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) and previous stroke, to derive relevant aspects on the epileptogenic focus and the network recruited for NCSE propagation.
Methods: We enrolled consecutive adult patients with acute-onset NCSE and a previous stroke at a single institution undergoing CTP and EEG during symptoms. All patients underwent standard imaging including CT, CTP, CT angiograms and standard EEG within 30 min from hospital arrival.

Background: Many people with kidney failure start and remain on in-centre haemodialysis treatment despite evidence of improved outcomes with home dialysis. To make an informed modality decision patients must receive frequent, high-quality modality education. This education is inconsistent in the in-centre haemodialysis setting, where patients spend the most time with nurses while receiving haemodialysis treatments.

Previous studies demonstrated that sensorimotor training enhances interoceptive abilities. Athletes are highly engaged in performance-driven physical training and often incorporate-to varying degrees-sensorimotor training into their routines. In this study, we investigated the role of individual differences in interoception by comparing professional athletes of different performance levels and both sexes with recreational athletes and controls, applying a three-dimensional model of interoception.

Background: Even though major improvements have been made in the treatment of myeloma, the majority of patients eventually relapse or progress. Patients with multiple myeloma who relapse after initial high-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cells have a median progression free survival up to 2-3 years, depending on risk factors such as previous remission duration. In recent years, growing evidence has suggested that allogeneic stem cell transplantation could be a promising treatment option for patients with relapsed or progressed multiple myeloma.
