Aim: Aberrative occlusal contacts were associated with Temporomandibular disorder (TMD), but whether stabilization splints with therapeutic exercises alleviate the symptoms is unclear. Hence, this study aims to compare the short-term efficacy of occlusal splint therapy and the synergistic effect of therapeutic exercise with occlusal splint therapy for 3 weeks in individuals with TMD.
Settings And Design: in-vivo observational pilot study.

Introduction/objective: Biallelic expansion of the pentanucleotide AAGGG in the RFC1- gene is associated with cerebellar ataxia, neuropathy, and vestibular areflexia syndrome (CANVAS). This study aimed to comprehensively characterise this condition by conducting an in-depth neurophysiological examination of afflicted patients.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted in 31 RFC1-positive patients.

Myofascial pain represents the largest subgroup of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) that account for a common cause of non-dental orofacial pain. The management of TMD is complex due to the chronic nature of the condition, alongside acute episodes presenting to the clinician. A fundamental part of TMD management is consideration of the biopsychosocial element in its aetiology.

This longitudinal study was aimed to evaluate the electromyographic activity (EMG) of the masticatory muscles during mandibular tasks in women with grade II and III obesity, who were eligible for bariatric surgery. Twenty-one patients were followed up for 3 and 6 months after the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The EMG included analyses of the masseter and temporalis muscles during rest, right and left laterality, protrusion, and dental clenching at maximal voluntary contraction with and without parafilm.
