The title compound, C20H27ClN2O3, was obtained via an original synthesis method. The central heterocyclic ring adopts a shallow envelope conformation, with the N atom bearing the cyclo-pentane ring as the flap [deviation from the other atoms = 0.442 (2) Å]. The cyclo-pentane ring adopts a twisted conformation about one of the CN-C bonds: the exocyclic C-N bond adopts an equatorial orientation. The dihedral angles between the central ring (all atoms) and the pendant five- and six-membered rings are 10.3 (2) and 87.76 (14)°, respectively. In the crystal, C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into [011] chains. A weak C-H⋯Cl inter-action links the chains into (100) sheets. A mechanism for the cyclization reaction is proposed.

Hexaanionic cyclophosphazenate ligands [(RN)PN] provide versatile platforms for the assembly of multinuclear metal arrays due to their multiple coordination sites and highly flexible ligand core structure. This work investigates the impact of incrementally increasing the steric demand of the ligand periphery on the coordination behavior of ethylzinc arrays. It shows that the increased congestion around the ligand sites is alleviated by progressive condensation with the elimination of diethylzinc.

Blood vessel formation relies on biochemical and mechanical signals, particularly during sprouting angiogenesis when endothelial tip cells (TCs) guide sprouting through filopodia formation. The contribution of BMP receptors in defining tip-cell characteristics is poorly understood. Our study combines genetic, biochemical, and molecular methods together with 3D traction force microscopy, which reveals an essential role of BMPR2 for actin-driven filopodia formation and mechanical properties of endothelial cells (ECs).

Identification of driving factors for heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons pollution in agricultural soils using interpretable machine learning.

Sci Total Environ

January 2025

Guangdong Provincial Academy of Environmental Science, Guangzhou 510045, China; Guangdong Laboratory of Soil Pollution Fate and Risk Management in Earth's Critical Zone and Guangdong Key Laboratory of Contaminated Environmental Management and Remediation, Guangzhou 510045, China.

This study integrated data-driven interpretable machine learning (ML) with statistical methods, complemented by knowledge-driven discrimination diagrams, to identify the primary driving factors of heavy metal (HM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contamination in agricultural soils influenced by complex sources in a rapidly industrializing region of a megacity in southern China. First, the statistical characteristics of the concentrations of HMs and PAHs, and their correlations with the environmental covariates were explored. Three ML models and a statistical model comprising multiple environmental variable predictors were developed and assessed to predict the concentration of HMs in the agricultural soil.

[Effect of electroacupuncture on denervated skeletal muscle atrophy in rats based on p38 MAPK signaling pathway].

College of TCM, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing Key Laboratory of TCM for Prevention and Treatment of Metabolic Diseases, Chongqing 410007, China.

Objective: To assess the impacts of electroacupuncture (EA) on the gait, oxidative stress, inflammatory reaction, and protein degradation in the rats of denervated skeletal muscle atrophy, and explore the potential mechanism of EA for alleviating denervated skeletal muscle atrophy.

Methods: Forty male SD rats, 8 weeks old, were randomly assigned to a sham-surgery group, a model group, an EA group, and a p38 MAPK inhibitor group, with 10 rats in each group. The right sciatic nerve was transected to establish a rat model of denervated skeletal muscle atrophy in the model group, the EA group and the p38 MAPK inhibitor group.

The title compounds, CHO ( and ), are tetra-cyclic benzoates composed of a taxane ring with a fused dioxolane ring as the core skeleton. In compound , the five-membered dioxolane ring is essentially planar while the two cyclo-hexane rings and the cyclo-octane ring adopt chair and chair-chair forms, respectively, and there are three intra-molecular H⋯H short contacts. The corresponding ring conformations in are similar; however, one intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action and two H⋯H short contacts are observed, and the benzoyl and meth-oxy-methyl groups show orientational disorder.
