Background: Evaluating health status changes following transfemoral carotid artery stenting (TF-CAS) is essential for assessing procedural success, but meaningful clinical changes are unknown. We aimed to determine minimal clinically important differences (MCIDs) and quantify health status improvement or worsening rates after TF-CAS using the Stenting and Angioplasty with Protection in Patients at High Risk for Endarterectomy (SAPPHIRE) registry data.
Methods: The SAPPHIRE registry included patients undergoing TF-CAS from 2010 to 2014 for both symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid stenosis.

Background: Psychological birth trauma represents a significant global public health concern, with an estimated 45% of new mothers reporting such an experience. Researchers mostly focus on the impacts of postpartum mental health issues, such as postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder, minimal attention has been given to the antecedents of psychological birth trauma. This study seeks to investigate the correlation between fear of childbirth and psychological birth trauma among Chinese women who have undergone natural childbirth, as well as the mediating role of coping styles in the association between fear of childbirth and psychological birth trauma.

Constrained by detecting techniques, patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) are often confronted with minimal residual disease (MRD) and a high risk of relapse. Thus, a pragmatic and robust method for MRD monitoring is urgently needed. Herein, a novel split-type electrochemical sensor (E-sensor) was developed by integrating nucleic acid sequence-based amplification (NASBA) with enzyme-linked magnetic microbeads (MMBs) for ultra-sensitive detection of the PML/RARα transcript.

Freeway tunnel approach zones, situated outside the tunnel, do not undergo the same sudden changes in luminous environment and visual references that entrance zones experience. Despite this, accident data indicates that approach zones present similar safety risks to entrance zones, both of which are significantly higher than other tunnel sections. The reasons for the heightened risks in approach zones remain unclear in existing research.

Background: This study investigated changes in the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), 2011 Knee Society Score (KSS), and minimal clinically important differences (MCIDs) of these scores preoperatively to 2 years after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 168 patients who underwent primary cruciate-retaining (CR) TKA using the subvastus approach. The KOOS and KSS were assessed preoperatively and during the 3-month, 6-month, 1-year, and 2-year follow ups.
