The authors analyzed the incidence of necrosis of the bone marrow in nonselected autopsy material. The studies included 419 cases of various disease types. Necrosis of the bone marrow was found in 83 cases (19.8%). It was most frequently observed in patients with neoplastic disease of the hematopoietic and lymphatic systems (26.3%) and malignant neoplasms of different origin (21.9%). In 40% cases necrosis of the bone marrow were accompanied by neoplastic metastases into the hematopoietic tissue, and thrombotic changes in the blood vessels occurred in 22.9% of these cases. Our results point to a fairly frequent occurrence of necrosis of the bone marrow, especially in the course of neoplastic disease.

tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) are a newly recognized class of small noncoding RNAs (sncRNAs) that play significant roles in various diseases. The Wnt pathway plays a key role in various physiological processes such as embryonic development, tissue renewal and regeneration. In the regulation of Wnt/β-catenin, Forkhead box k1(FOXK1), Frizzled class receptor 3 (FZD3), and Wnt5b can be targeted and inhibited by three tRFs: tRF3008A targets FOXK1 to inhibit colorectal cancer (CRC), 5'-tiRNAVal targets FZD3 to inhibit breast cancer (BrC), and tRF-22-8BWS7K092 targets Wnt5b to induce ferroptosis in lung cells.

Introduction This study evaluated hip joint dynamic instability in patients with non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) with extensive lesions, who had undergone anterior rotational osteotomy (ARO) and high-degree posterior rotational osteotomy (HDPRO), based on the femoral head translation observed by computed tomography (CT) at 0° and 45° hip flexion. Materials and methods Medical records of patients who had undergone transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy for non-traumatic ONFH were retrospectively reviewed to identify patients who had undergone CT examinations six weeks post-operatively. In all, 64 hips (60 patients; 19 men and 41 women), comprising 36 hips treated with HDPRO and 28 hips treated with ARO, respectively, were included.

Background: Osteopenia (ON) and osteoporosis (OP) are highly prevalent among postmenopausal women and poses a challenge for early diagnosis. Therefore, identifying reliable biomarkers for early prediction using metabolomics is critically important.
Methods: Initially, non-targeted metabolomics was employed to identify differential metabolites in plasma samples from cohort 1, which included healthy controls (HC, n = 23), osteonecrosis (ON, n = 36), and osteoporosis (OP, n = 37).

Background: Pediatric femoral neck fractures (PFNF) are rare but associated with a high rate of serious complications such as avascular femoral head necrosis (AVN). Major risk factors and prognostic tools for an AVN are still unclear. As AVN is a devastating complication, this study aims to evaluate the predictors for AVN following a PFNF.

The use of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) has demonstrated effectiveness in the management of femoral head osteonecrosis as well as nonunion fractures; however, the effects of PEMF on preventing glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) have not been extensively studied. The aim of this investigation was to explore the effectiveness of PEMF stimulation in averting GIOP in rats and uncover the potential fundamental mechanisms involved. A total of seventy-two adult male Wistar rats composed the experimental group and were subsequently assigned to three groups for treatment.
