The incidence of crural ulcers is high. They reduce quality of life considerably and create a burden on the healthcare budget. The key treatment is ambulant compression therapy (ACT). We describe two patients with crural ulcers whose ambulant compression treatment was suboptimal and did not result in healing. When the bandages were applied correctly healing was achieved. If correctly applied ACT should provide sufficient pressure to eliminate oedema, whilst taking local circumstances such as bony structures and arterial qualities into consideration. To provide pressure-to-measure regular practical training, skills and regular quality checks are needed. Knowledge of the properties of bandages and the proper use of materials for padding under the bandage enables good personalised ACT. In trained hands adequate compression and making use of simple bandages and dressings provides good care for patients suffering from crural ulcers in contrast to inadequate ACT using the same materials.

A case of polyparasitism in an 8-year-old female cat from Southern Brazil is reported. Among the described clinical signs, both gurltiosis and lagochilascariasis are of rare occurrence, being categorized as neglected diseases. The diagnosis of feline crural parasitic paraplegia was established through clinical signs, necropsy lesion observations, and the presence of Gurltia paralysans in histological sections of the spinal cord.

We present a female in her sixties with a recurrent paraesophageal hernia status post open Nissen fundoplication and multiple esophageal dilations who underwent a robotic paraesophageal hernia repair, with extensive lysis of adhesions. The stomach and esophagus were dissected off the crura and the previous wrap was undone. Once the entirety of the stomach and esophagus were freed from their surrounding structures, the hernia sac was able to be excised.

Purpose: To describe a crossing technique of stenotic/occluded and tortuous highly calcific ankle vessels during complex percutaneous limb salvage intervention in diabetic patients with ischaemic foot ulcers (Rutherford 5 and 6).
Technique: We propose a simple technique to achieve "straightening" of the tortuous vessel and allow safe devices passage into the foot arteries, Patients were asked to hold their foot in plantar or dorsal flexion, accordingly to the treated artery. If unable to do so, an equipe member executed the manoeuvre on their behalf.

: The search for an optimal interventional treatment strategy in infrapopliteal peripheral artery disease remains in the focus of interest. Whether drug-coated balloons (DCB) might enhance interventional outcomes after crural interventions is a matter of debate, as studies yielded conflicting results on DCB safety and efficacy. : We analyzed a retrospective cohort of 75 infrapopliteal DCB interventions performed at our institution in 68 patients with peripheral artery disease in Rutherford category 3 to 6.

-chlorotaurine (NCT), an antiseptic that originates from the human defense system, has broad-spectrum microbicidal activity and is well tolerated by human tissue and applicable to sensitive body regions. Bacteria in short-term biofilms, too, have been shown to be killed by NCT. It was the aim of the present study to demonstrate the activity of NCT against bacteria and yeasts in longer-lasting biofilms, including their co-culture.
