Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the labor characteristics and maternal/perinatal consequences following indicated induction of labor.
Methods: This retrospective study examined all of the indicated inductions over 24 months and at two institutions evaluated mode of delivery (vaginal versus cesarean) as well as a comprehensive list of labor characteristics and maternal/perinatal outcomes.
Results: There were 1577 indicated inductions with 1097/1577 (69.6%) delivering vaginally. Women with a cesarean delivery had lower parity (p < (0).0001) and Bishop's score (p < (0).0001), and higher body mass indices (p = 0.022). Indication for induction due to preeclampsia increased the risk of a cesarean delivery (p = 0.008). Chorioamnionitis, post-partum complications and NICU admissions were greater in the women delivered by cesarean section.
Conclusions: Indicated inductions which result in cesarean delivery were more likely in women with higher body mass indexes, lower parity, and Bishops scores, as well as preeclampsia.

Cellular senescence contributes to a variety of pathologies associated with aging and is implicated as a cellular state in which cancer cells can survive treatment. Reported senolytic drug treatments act through varying molecular mechanisms, but heterogeneous efficacy across the diverse contexts of cellular senescence indicates a need for predictive biomarkers of senolytic activity. Using multi-parametric analyses of commonly reported molecular features of the senescent phenotype, we assayed a variety of models, including malignant and nonmalignant cells, using several triggers of senescence induction and found little univariate predictive power of these traditional senescence markers to identify senolytic drug sensitivity.

We here present a novel generative visual attribution technique, one that leverages latent diffusion models in combination with domain-specific large language models, in order to generate normal counterparts of abnormal images. The discrepancy between the two hence gives rise to a mapping indicating the diagnostically-relevant image components.

Background: There is emerging evidence for the role of exercise in optimising function, quality of life (QoL) and reducing hospital length-of-stay if commenced prior to undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). A local pilot study of a prehabilitation and rehabilitation intervention during ASCT for myeloma patients indicated promising results and was adapted to translate into local clinical care. The aim of this report is to describe an overview of a newly implemented physiotherapist-led exercise prehabilitation and rehabilitation service delivered as part of the myeloma ASCT pathway, and present real-world findings related to changes in function and QoL.

We tested the hypothesis that disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) predicts a poor prognosis in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) treated with veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO). Fifty-seven patients with cardiogenic OHCA who immediately underwent VA-ECMO upon admission to the emergency department were divided into 27 non-DIC and 30 DIC patients.
