TOP2A inhibition and its cellular effects related to cell cycle checkpoint adaptation pathway.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Departamento Biología Experimental, Universidad de Jaén, Paraje Las Lagunillas S/N E23071, Jaén, Spain.

In this study, we investigate the G2 checkpoint activated by chromosome entanglements, the so-called Decatenation Checkpoint (DC), which can be activated by TOP2A catalytic inhibition. Specifically, we focus on the spontaneous ability of cells to bypass or override this checkpoint, referred to as checkpoint adaptation. Some factors involved in adapting to this checkpoint are p53 and MCPH1.

Recent Advances of Gaseous Pollutant Catalytic Oxidation over Precious Metal Catalysts with SO Exposure.

Environ Sci Technol

January 2025

Tianjin Key Lab of Indoor Air Environmental Quality Control, School of Environmental Science and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300350, China.

Precious metal catalysts are widely used for catalytic oxidation of various gaseous pollutants (CO, methane, and VOCs) due to their excellent catalytic activity. However, they are easily affected by SO and deactivated in actual industrial waste gas or motor vehicle exhaust. Therefore, this review systematically summarizes the representative studies of gaseous pollutant catalytic oxidation over precious metal catalysts with SO exposure.

Sodium butyrate attenuates oxidative stress, apoptosis, and excessive mitophagy in sodium fluoride-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.

Ecotoxicol Environ Saf

January 2025

Liaoning Province Key Laboratory for phenomics of Human Ethnic Specificity and Critical Illness, Shenyang Medical College, Shengyang, PR China. Electronic address:

Aim: Long-term exposure to excess sodium fluoride (NaF) can cause chronic fluorosis. Liver, the most important detoxification organ, is the most vulnerable to the effects of fluoride. Sodium butyrate (NaB), a short-chain fatty acid produced in the intestinal tract, maintains normal mitochondrial function in vivo and reduces liver inflammation and oxidative stress.

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a class 1 carcinogen and mycotoxin known to contribute to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), growth impairment, altered immune system modulation, and malnutrition. AFB1 is synthesized by Aspergillus flavus and is known to widely contaminate foodstuffs, particularly maize, wheat, and groundnuts. The mechanism in which AFB1 causes genetic mutations has been well studied, however its metabolomic effects remained largely unknown.

Targeted Conversion of Biomass into Primary Diamines via Carbon Shell-Confined Cobalt Nanoparticles.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry & Technology, Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan 610064, P.R. China.

Primary diamines are valuable yet challenging to synthesize due to issues such as product and intermediate condensation and catalyst poisoning. To address these problems, effective synthesis systems must be explored. Here, 2,5-bis(aminomethyl)furan (BAMF), a biomass-derived primary diamine, is chosen as the model for constructing such a system.
