A highly sensitive amperometric gas-phase nitric oxide (NO) sensor based on a Pt working electrode chemically deposited on a Nafion film is described. The Pt electrode is chemically deposited on a Nafion 117 membrane by impregnating the film with Pt(NH3)4(2+) ions, which are then exposed to NaBH4 to precipitate conductive Pt metal. The sensor was characterized with a mass-flow controlled 1 ppm NO standard gas and has an electrochemical surface area of 34 ± 9 cm(2), low limits of detection (4.3 ± 1.1 ppb) and a fast response time (<5s) toward changes in gas phase NO levels. Good correlation was found for measurements with the new amperometric Pt-Nafion sensor vs. chemiluminescence results for detecting the rates of NO release from Carbosil2080A polymer films doped with S-nitroso-N-acetylpenicillamine (R = 0.999, m = 0.999, n = 6) and for electrochemical reduction of nitrite to NO (R = 0.999, m = 0.938, n = 3) mediated by a copper(II)-tri(2-pyridylmethyl)amine complex.

To investigate the expression pattern of pan-TRK protein in colorectal cancers with NTRK gene fusion and mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) and to analyze its molecular pathological characteristics. A total of 117 dMMR colorectal cancers diagnosed in the Department of Pathology of Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou, China from 2020 to 2023 were collected. Immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and DNA/RNA-based next-generation sequencing (NGS) were used to detect pan-TRK protein expression and fusion partner genes in tumors, and to further explore the correlation between pan-TRK staining patterns and partner genes.

Background: Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has attracted much attention as a powerful detection and analysis tool with high sensitivity and fast detection speed. The intensity of the SERS signal mainly depended on the highly enhanced electromagnetic field of nanostructure near the substrate. However, the fabrication of high-quality SERS nanostructured substrates is usually complicated, makes many methods unsuitable for large-scale production of SERS substrates.

Background: Ochratoxin A (OTA) is toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi and can pose a serious threat to food safety and human health. Due to the high stability and toxicity, OTA contamination in agricultural products is of great concern. Therefore, the development of a highly sensitive and reliable OTA detection method is crucial to ensure food safety.

Background: Accurate quantification of microRNA (miRNA) is of great significance because it provides opportunities for the accurate early diagnosis of a series of human diseases including cancers. Currently, complicated nucleic acid amplification technologies are always required for the highly sensitive miRNA detection. The introduction of nucleic acid signal amplification coupled with various enzymes will inevitably lead to tedious work and increase the complexity of the analysis process.

The COVID-19 outbreak was an important turning point in the development of a new generation of biosensing technologies. The synergistic combination of an immunochromatographic test (lateral flow immunoassays, LFIA) and signal transducers provides enhanced sensitivity and the ability to quantify in the rapid tests. This is possible due to the variety of nanoparticles that can be used as reporter labels.
