These guidelines are intended for use by infectious disease specialists, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with native vertebral osteomyelitis (NVO). They include evidence and opinion-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of patients with NVO treated with antimicrobial therapy, with or without surgical intervention.

Collecting fog water is crucial for dry areas since natural moisture and fog are significant sources of freshwater. Sustainable and energy-efficient water collection systems can take a page out of the cactus's playbook by mimicking its native fog gathering process. Inspired by the unique geometric structure of the cactus spine, we fabricated a bioinspired artificial fog collector consisting of cactus spines featuring barbs of different sizes and angles on the surfaces for water collection and a series of microcavities within microchannels inspired by Nepenthes Alata on the bottom to facilitate water flowing to the reservoir.

Intervertebral disc degeneration, which leads to low back pain, is the most prevalent musculoskeletal condition worldwide, significantly impairing quality of life and imposing substantial socioeconomic burdens on affected individuals. A major impediment to the development of any prospective cell-driven recovery of functional properties in degenerate IVDs is the diminishing IVD cell numbers and viability with ageing which cannot sustain such a recovery process. However, if IVD proteoglycan levels, a major functional component, can be replenished through an orthobiological process which does not rely on cellular or nutritional input, then this may be an effective strategy for the re-attainment of IVD mechanical properties.

Introduction: Although sagittal alignment is known to influence pelvic position, few studies accurately identify the relationship between sagittal alignment and acetabular orientation. We hypothesized that postoperative PT should be correlated with acetabular change in native hips after surgical correction of adult spinal deformity. The objective of this study was therefore to describe the correlation between the change in pelvic tilt and the change in acetabular orientation two years after surgical correction of adult spinal deformity.

Objective: To study the properties of materials and select the most suitable one for appropriate device covering annulus fibrosus defect after lumbar discectomy.
Material And Methods: Prototype devices made of poly(L-)lactide, polycaprolactone (PLC) and copolymers of(L-)lactide and ε-caprolactone (LCL) without prior purification were used. Sponge materials were prepared using 1.

Intervertebral disc degeneration is commonly associated with back and neck pain, and standard surgical treatments do not restore spine function. Replacement of the degenerative disc with a living, tissue-engineered construct has the potential to restore normal structure and function to the spine. Toward this goal, our group developed endplate-modified disc-like angle-ply structures (eDAPS) that recapitulate the native structure and function of the disc.
