Matrix-bound vesicles (MBVs), an integral part of the extracellular matrix (ECM), are emerging as pivotal factors in ECM-driven molecular signaling. This study is the first to report the isolation of MBVs from porcine arterial endothelial cell basement membranes (A-MBVs) and thyroid cartilage (C-MBVs), the latter serving as a negative control due to its minimal vascular characteristics. Using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Nano-Tracking Analysis (NTA), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), we orthogonally characterized the isolated MBVs.

Myocardial infarction (MI) poses a substantial threat to human health, prompting extensive research into effective treatment modalities. Preclinical studies have demonstrated the therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes for cardiac repair. Despite their promise, the inherent limitations of natural exosomes, mainly their restricted targeting capabilities, present formidable barriers to clinical transformation.

Sensing of hazardous gases has an important role in ensuring safety in a variety of industries as well as environments. Mainly produced by the combustion of fossil fuels and other organic matter, ethanol is a dangerous gas that endangers human health and the environment. Stability and sensing sensitivity are major considerations when designing gas sensors.

The stacking mode in aggregate state results from a delicate balance of supramolecular interactions, which closely affects the optoelectronic properties of organic π-conjugated systems. Then, managing these interactions is crucial for advancing phototheranostics, yet remains challenging. A subtle strategy involving peripheral phenyl groups is debuted herein to transform X-aggregated SQ-H into J-aggregated SQ-Ph, reorienting intermolecular dipole interactions while rationally modulating π-π interactions.

As one of the key diagnostic methods for detecting biomarkers and antigen-antibody interactions, the luminescent oxygen channel immunoassay (LOCI) has been widely applied in bioanalysis and other fields. In the context of LOCI, the performance of the prepared donor polystyrene (PS) microspheres significantly impacts the detection signal values. In this study, an attempt was made to synthesize PS microspheres via one-step polymerization of styrene with an amphiphilic monomer (PEOOH), followed by swelling the silicon phthalocyanine photosensitizer into the PS microspheres, resulting in the functionalization of the PS microspheres with polyethylene glycol segments.
