Until the beginning of the century, bleeding management was similar in elective surgeries or exsanguination scenarios: clotting tests were used to guide blood product orders and, while awaiting these results, an aggressive resuscitation with crystalloids was recommended. The high mortality rate in severe hemorrhages managed with this strategy endorsed the need for a special resuscitation plan. As a result, modifications were recommended to develop a new clinical approach to these patients, called "Damage Control Resuscitation".

Purpose: Defibrillation in shockable rhythm is a well-known key intervention in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The aim of this study was to analyze accuracy (the sum of the numbers of true positive results and true negative results, divided by the number of total results) of deciding by paramedics whether the rhythm was shockable or non-shockable.
Methods: In this study 103 paramedics from various regions of Poland participated voluntarily.

HSPB1 [heat shock protein family B (small) member 1] and HSPB8 are essential molecular chaperones for neuronal proteostasis, as they prevent protein aggregation. Mutant HSPB1 and HSPB8 primarily harm peripheral neurons, resulting in axonal Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathies (CMT2). Macroautophagy/autophagy is a shared mechanism by which HSPB1 and HSPB8 mutations cause neuronal dysfunction.

Objective: To construct a nomogram prediction model for 28-day mortality in septic shock patients based on routine laboratory data mining and verify its predictive value.
