The aim of this comparative study was to examine the possible benefits of a dedicated Orthopaedic Trauma Room (DOTR) and in the care of patients with proximal femur fractures. A retrospective study of all orthopaedic cases with a hip fracture from 2020 to 2022 at CHC Montlegia has been undertaken, the group is compared to patients with the same impairment from 2018-2020 admitted to Saint Joseph/Esperance CHC hospitals (before the merge and the existence of a DOTR). The delay between the arrival at the emergency department and transfer to the operating room, as well as the mortality are evaluated.

Following severe burns, the predominant concern is significant fluid loss, for which balanced crystalloid solutions are widely recommended as the primary intravenous resuscitation fluids. However, current literature lacks a clear distinction among various buffered crystalloid types that might be most effective in the early resuscitation of burn patients. This retrospective study was conducted to identify the optimal resuscitation fluid for major burns and to assess the clinical outcomes associated with isotonic crystalloid solutions compared to hypotonic crystalloids, specifically in terms of urinary output, acid-base balance, and electrolyte stability.

Background: This study examines the relationship between the anterior offset of the tibial intramedullary nail (TIN) entry point and the tibial shaft axis to enhance the fit and alignment of TINs, using transparent 3D-CT in an accurate lateral view to minimize rotational artifacts.

Methods: Data were collected from 100 adult patients undergoing tibial CT scans. Measurements included the anterior offset from the tibial axis to the entry point, tibial tubercle offset, tibial plateau length, posterior slope, tibial length, isthmus diameter, and the isthmus-to-tibial length ratio.
