Published: August 2015

We reported 5 cases of granular cell tumors (GCTs) of esophagus and reviewed the literature. There were 4 females and 1 male with a median age of 43 years and an average age of 44 years. All of the cases had solitary tumors. Tumor size was 0.4-2.5 cm in diameter. Gastroscopy revealed that 2 cases were located in the middle esophagus, 1 case in the upper esophagus, and 2 cases in the distal one. Five cases displayed gray-white, pink, yellow mucosal uplifts of esophagus, 3 cases had smooth surface, 1 case was slightly concave, and the biggest tumor had erosion. Tumor cells were large and polygonal with rich granular and eosinophilic cytoplasm, and small oval nuclei. Cells were arranged in nest or aciniform. Immunohistochemistry and histochemistry staining showed S-100+, neuron specific enolase+, Vim+, CD68+, smooth muscle actin-, Des-, CK-, CD117-, CD34-, Ki67-or ≤ 5%+. Periodic acid-Schiff reaction and epithelial membrane antigen were both weakly positive. GCTs of esophagus are rare and most of the cases have good prognosis.

Sertoli eosinophilic granular change and Sertoli cell nodules are incidental findings. This details focal Sertoli eosinophilic granular and Sertoli cell only changes coincident with Sertoli cell nodules in a pubertal testis with acute torsion and bell clapper deformity. A 14-year-old with bell clapper deformity underwent orchiectomy for torsion.

Introduction: Systemic sclerosis is a complex disease characterized by the fibrosis and vasculopathy.

Aim: We aimed to assess scleroderma by examining involucrin, an early terminal differentiation marker of epidermal keratinocytes.

Material And Methods: Immunolocalization of involucrin was performed in healthy controls and patients with scleroderma lesions by using an immunofluorescence (IF) assay.

Background: Regenerative medicine researches have shown that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may be an effective treatment method for premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). However, the efficacy of MSCs is still limited.

Purpose: This study aims to explain whether salidroside and MSCs combination is a therapeutic strategy to POI and to explore salidroside-enhanced MSCs inhibiting ferroptosis via Keap1/Nrf2/GPX4 signaling.

rTMS improves cognitive function and its real-time and cumulative effect on neuronal excitability in aged mice.

Brain Res

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Digital Medical Engineering of Hebei Province, College of Electronic & Information Engineering, Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei 071002, PR China. Electronic address:

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is acknowledged for its critical role in modulating neuronal excitability and enhancing cognitive function. The dentate gyrus of the hippocampus is closely linked to cognitive processes; however, the precise mechanisms by which changes in its excitability influence cognition are not yet fully understood. This study aimed to elucidate the effects on granule cell excitability and the effects on cognition of high-frequency rTMS in naturally aging mice, as well as to investigate the potential interactions between these two factors.

To investigate the expression pattern of pan-TRK protein in colorectal cancers with NTRK gene fusion and mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) and to analyze its molecular pathological characteristics. A total of 117 dMMR colorectal cancers diagnosed in the Department of Pathology of Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou, China from 2020 to 2023 were collected. Immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and DNA/RNA-based next-generation sequencing (NGS) were used to detect pan-TRK protein expression and fusion partner genes in tumors, and to further explore the correlation between pan-TRK staining patterns and partner genes.
