This paper presents an unsupervised Bayesian algorithm for hyperspectral image unmixing, accounting for endmember variability. The pixels are modeled by a linear combination of endmembers weighted by their corresponding abundances. However, the endmembers are assumed random to consider their variability in the image. An additive noise is also considered in the proposed model, generalizing the normal compositional model. The proposed algorithm exploits the whole image to benefit from both spectral and spatial information. It estimates both the mean and the covariance matrix of each endmember in the image. This allows the behavior of each material to be analyzed and its variability to be quantified in the scene. A spatial segmentation is also obtained based on the estimated abundances. In order to estimate the parameters associated with the proposed Bayesian model, we propose to use a Hamiltonian Monte Carlo algorithm. The performance of the resulting unmixing strategy is evaluated through simulations conducted on both synthetic and real data.

Unlabelled: Local types of coinage testify to the emerging use of silver in the Balkan interior, possibly related to abundant ore deposits in the region. Here, we present Pb isotope data for silver coins minted by local tribes and settlements (anepigraphic coins attributed to the Derrones/Laeaei, Damastion, Pelagia, Kings of Paeonia) between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE. Estuaries are critical zones for understanding the dynamics of organic carbon (OC) burial, particularly in the context of human intervention, yet detailed information remains limited. This study presents comprehensive field observations aimed at assessing the spatial and temporal variations in sedimentary OC sources, composition, and distribution within the Yangtze Estuary. By employing a three-endmember estimation, we determined the contributions of fluvial, marine, and salt marsh plants to OC in the mouth bar as 52 ± 6 %, 28 ± 12 %, and 20 ± 9 %, respectively.

Unlabelled: A new activity model for biotite is formulated in the system KO-FeO-MgO-AlO-SiO-HO-TiO-O (KFMASHTO), which extends that for the KFMASH system by introducing a titanium-biotite and a ferric-biotite end-member (: K(TiMg)[(O)(AlSi)O] and : K(FeMg)[(OH)(AlSi)O]), as well as a pyrophyllite end-member (: Al[(OH)SiO]) that accounts for the presence of octahedral excess-Al in natural biotites. Phonon calculations applying density functional theory (DFT) using the software yielded the standard entropies of and as  = 328.06 J/(mol·K) and  = 301.
