Background: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted lower genital tract infection worldwide and the main etiological factor of cervical cancer (CC). Since 2006, vaccines have been implemented to reduce CC-related morbidity and mortality. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the prevalence of cervical infections by non-vaccine high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) types in women vaccinated against types 16 and 18.

Membrane incompatibility poses significant health risks, including severe complications and potential fatality. Surface modification of membranes has emerged as a pivotal technology in the membrane industry, aiming to improve the hemocompatibility and performance of dialysis membranes by mitigating undesired membrane-protein interactions, which can lead to fouling and subsequent protein adsorption. Affinity energy, defined as the strength of interaction between membranes and human serum proteins, plays a crucial role in assessing membrane-protein interactions.

Cocaine-use disorders (CUDs) continue to be a major public health problem that requires effective treatments. Despite decades of preclinical research, there are no FDA-approved pharmacotherapies for cocaine use. While there are numerous potential reasons why no efficacious treatments have been identified or approved for cocaine use, we discuss two possible reasons in this review: the low number of studies incorporating social variables and the overlooking of the clinical reality of polysubstance use.

This study aimed to evaluate the performance of machine learning models for predicting readmission of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) based on administrative data and chart review data. The study analyzed 4,327 patient encounters from the University of Chicago Medicine to assess the risk of readmission within 90 days after an acute exacerbation of COPD. Two random forest prediction models were compared.
