Purpose: To investigate the feasibility of a robotic system with artificial intelligence-based lesion detection and path planning for CT-guided biopsy, compared to the conventional freehand technique.
Materials And Methods: Eight nodules within an abdominal phantom, incorporating the simulated vertebrae and ribs, were designated as targets. A robotic system was used for lesion detection, trajectory generation, and needle-holder positioning.

The field of interventional radiology is facing a growing demand for percutaneous procedures targeting smaller and more complex lesions. Percutaneous medical robots have proven to increase efficiency and accuracy and can address these issues. This review is intended to provide an overview of the functionality and components of these robotic systems for operators learning to use them.

Purpose: Cochlear implants (CI) are the most successful bioprosthesis in medicine probably due to the tonotopic anatomy of the auditory pathway and of course the brain plasticity. Correct placement of the CI arrays, respecting the inner ear anatomy are therefore important. The ideal trajectory to insert a cochlear implant array is defined by an entrance through the round window membrane and continues as long as possible parallel to the basal turn of the cochlea.

This paper deals with neuro-registration using tele-manipulation (Master-Slave Manipulation) to facilitate tele-surgery and enhance the overall accuracy and reach of the robot-assisted neurosurgery. Accurate Neuro-registration is important as the success of the surgical procedure highly depends on it. A 6-degree-of-freedom Parallel Kinematic Mechanism (6D-PKM) master-slave robot in tele-manipulation mode is utilized for both neuro-registration and neurosurgery.
