Introduction: Vital dyes lymphography during laparoscopic varicocelectomy (LV) has been suggested to allow for lymphatic mapping thereby allowing for lymphatic sparing (LS) and subsequent reduction of hydrocele formation. Intratesticular injection of the dye seems to achieve the best lymphatic visualization, however, the potential toxicity of some agents, is a cause of concern for the risk of testicular pathological changes. We report our experience with LV, to test the hypothesis that Intraoperative lymphography with methylene blue (BL), is safe and reduces the rate of post-operative hydrocelectomy.

The advancement of disease-modifying treatments (DMTs) for Alzheimer's disease (AD), along with the approval of three amyloid-targeting therapies in the US and several other countries, represents a significant development in the treatment landscape, offering new hope for addressing this once untreatable chronic progressive disease. However, significant challenges persist that could impede the successful integration of this class of drugs into clinical practice. These challenges include determining patient eligibility, appropriate use of diagnostic tools and genetic testing in patient care pathways, effective detection and monitoring of side effects, and improving the healthcare system's readiness by engaging both primary care and dementia specialists.

Purpose/objective(s): While definitive chemoradiation (CRT) with 5-FU/MMC remains the standard of care for localized anal cancer, treatment is associated with significant acute and late toxicity. Proton radiation therapy (RT) may potentially reduce such toxicity. Here, we assess the long-term outcomes of anal cancer patients treated with CRT using proton RT in two prospective pilot studies.

Dredging in estuarine systems significantly impacts phytoplankton communities, with suspended particulate matter (SPM) and dissolved aluminum (Al) serving as indicators of disturbance intensity. This study assessed the effects of dredging in the São Marcos Estuarine Complex (SMEC), Brazil, over three distinct events (2015, 2017, 2020), involving varying sediment volumes and climatic influences. Prolonged dredging operations and increased sediment volumes led to a pronounced 43.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can lead to chronic neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration associated with long-term cognitive deficits. Following TBI, the acute neuroinflammatory response involves microglial activation and the release of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines which induce the recruitment of peripheral immune cells such as monocytes and ultimately T cells. Persistent innate and adaptive immune cells response can lead to chronic neurodegeneration and functional deficits.
