Background: ESWT has proven clinical benefit in dermatology and plastic surgery. It promotes wound healing and improves tissue regeneration, connective tissue disorders, and inflammatory skin diseases. However, a single treatment session or long intervals between sessions may reduce the therapeutic effect. The present study investigated the effects of fractionated repetitive treatment in skin microcirculation.
Methods: 32 rats were randomly assigned to two groups and received either fractionated repetitive high-energy ESWT every ten minutes or placebo shock wave treatment, applied to the dorsal lower leg. Microcirculatory effects were continuously assessed by combined laser Doppler imaging and photospectrometry.
Results: In experimental group, cutaneous tissue oxygen saturation was increased 1 minute after the first application and until the end of the measuring period at 80 minutes after the second treatment (P < 0.05). The third ESWT application boosted the effect to its highest extent. Cutaneous capillary blood flow showed a significant increase after the second application which was sustained for 20 minutes after the third application (P < 0.05). Placebo group showed no statistically significant differences.
Conclusions: Fractionated repetitive extracorporeal shock wave therapy (frESWT) boosts and prolongs the effects on cutaneous hemodynamics. The results indicate that frESWT may provide greater benefits in the treatment of distinct soft tissue disorders compared with single-session ESWT.

Heat accumulation due to repetitive simple laser processing paths during building up a three-dimensional structure is a well-known issue that needs to be settled to reduce the excessively high residual stress and thermal deformation in a powder bed fusion (PBF) additive manufacturing process. Because of the dependency of laser path on the thermal dispersion, it is essential to analyze the heat accumulation phenomenon during laser processing. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis based on the volume of fraction method is used to optimize the laser path for minimizing the local heating up in the PBF process.

Aims: The objective of the current study was to investigate the dynamic functional connectivity among large-scale brain networks in patients with insomnia, and to assess the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment in these individuals.
Methods: Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data from 62 insomnia patients and 69 healthy controls were used to compare differences in dynamic functional connectivity between the two groups. A total of 26 insomnia patients underwent rTMS for four weeks.

The double spike (DS) technique is a highly effective approach for measuring the isotope ratios of many elements. However, it is common for some fraction of the prepared samples to be "overspiked." The usual solution for this problem involves repurifying and reanalyzing the samples to ensure data accuracy.

All forms of genetic variation originate from new mutations, making it crucial to understand their rates and mechanisms. Here, we use long-read sequencing from Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) to investigate de novo mutations that accumulated in 12 inbred mouse lines derived from three commonly used inbred strains (C3H, C57BL/6, and FVB) maintained for 8 to 15 generations in a mutation accumulation (MA) experiment. We built chromosome-level genome assemblies based on the MA line founders' genomes and then employed a combination of read and assembly-based methods to call the complete spectrum of new mutations.
