Background And Purpose: Empathy is an important part of the nurse-patient relationship. The aim was to validate the French version of the Reynolds Empathy Scale (F-RES) for assessing empathy in nurses during standardized clinical simulations (SCS).
Methods: A series of steps recommended for the translation and validation of an instrument was carried out. Then the F-RES was used to assess empathy during SCS sessions with 26 nurses.
Results: The results showed good internal consistency and inter-rater reliability of the F-RES. The expert panel was satisfied with the content and face validity of the instrument. Convergent validity was confirmed using the French version of the Jefferson Scale of Patient Perceptions of Physician Empathy.
Conclusions: The F-RES has good psychometric qualities and potential for future research in French populations.

Introduction: Acceptable Noise Level (ANL) is defined as the most comfortable level (MCL) intensity for speech and is calculated by subtracting the maximum noise tolerable by an individual. The ANL test has been used over time to predict hearing aid use and the impact of digital noise reduction. This study analyzes this impact by using different masker babble spectra when performing the ANL test in both hearing-impaired and healthy subjects in three different languages (Dutch, French, and Italian).

Aim: Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) affects up to 37% of adolescents. Given the paucity of available tools to assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adolescents with HMB, we developed the adolescent menstrual bleeding questionnaire (aMBQ), a valid and reliable measure of bleeding-related quality of life. The aim of this study was cross-cultural translation and adaptation of the English aMBQ into French to ensure accessibility for more Canadian adolescents who menstruate.
