Methods: This study retrospectively evaluated 397 ESCC patients across two centers. The cumulative incidence of recurrence (CIR) and the incidence of tumor-related death (CID) were analyzed in various groups.

Introduction: Chemoradiation therapy (CRT) with concurrent high-dose cisplatin (CDDP) is one of the standard treatment options for locally advanced head and neck cancer. Since the indications specific to the older population have not been reported, we conducted a multicenter survey on the indications.
Methods: In April and May 2023, a questionnaire survey was emailed to all institutions belonging to the JCOG-HNCSG, consisting of 37 institutions.

Esophageal bleeding management typically involves endoscopy but becomes challenging with large or hemorrhagic tumors, especially in cases of rare basal cell carcinoma. This malignancy, with a poorer prognosis than squamous cell carcinoma, often requires definitive surgery. A 78-year-old man with severe hematemesis underwent transarterial embolization (TAE) after failed endoscopic hemostasis for a middle thoracic esophageal tumor.

Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is a prevalent clinical condition characterized by an inappropriate secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH). It is most often caused by one or more parathyroid adenomas, which can, in rare cases, be ectopically located. Ectopic adenomas can pose a diagnostic challenge, lead to treatment delay, and be a common cause of recurrent hypercalcemia after parathyroidectomy.

Gastric varices (GVs) are dilated veins in the stomach submucosa, typically caused by portal hypertension. A prompt diagnosis is needed, given the significant risk of bleeding and mortality. Endoscopic cyanoacrylate injections are widely adopted for treating GV due to their efficacy in preventing rebleeding with lower complication rates.
