Periorifical dermatitis (POD) is a papular, chronic inflammatory skin disease commonly seen in women in their 2nd to 4th decade of life. The major differential diagnosis is persistent acne. In children, POD is less common than in adults.

Background: Granulomatous rosacea (GR) is a rare inflammatory skin disease, which is considered a variant of rosacea, apart from other types of rosacea.
Objective: This study aimed to summarize the characteristics of Korean patients diagnosed with GR by combining clinical and histological findings.
Methods: Fifteen cases, both clinically and histologically consistent with GR, were selected and were subsequently analyzed to describe clinical and histological characteristics.

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory facial disease occurring world-wide. The incidence of rosacea is increasing with age, with the clinical course being characterized by relapses. The pathogenesis of rosacea is not completely understood, but neurovascular and immunologic mechanisms are involved.

Periorificial dermatitis (POD) has been documented in the pediatric population in patients as young as 3 months, with a slight predominance in girls compared to boys. Many patients have a personal or family history of atopic disorders. Periorificial dermatitis typically presents with erythematous to flesh-colored papules and rarely pustules near the eyes, nose, and mouth.
