Merocyanine dyes that exhibit antithetic cyanine-like behaviour and giant first-order hyperpolarisability (β) values have been designed. These cyanine-type dyes open up an intriguing route towards molecular-based electro-optic materials as well as new second-harmonic generation dyes for imaging.

The Daguangbao landslide (DGBL), triggered by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, is a rare instance of super-giant landslides globally. The post-earthquake evolution of the DGBL has garnered significant attention in recent years; however, its deformation patterns remain poorly characterized owing to the complex local topography. In this study, we present the first observations of the surface dynamics of DGBL by integrating satellite- and ground-based InSAR data complemented by kinematic interpretation using a LiDAR-derived Digital Surface Model (DSM).

Background: Carotid body tumor (CBT) is a rare neoplasm that arises from the chemoreceptor cells located at the carotid bifurcation. Giant CBTs are extremely rare, with only 16 cases reported to date.
Case Summary: A 63-year-old male with an unremarkable medical history presented with a right-sided, giant, Shamblin III CBT.

Background: This article is dedicated to David Farrington who was a giant in criminology and, in particular, a pioneer in studying developmental pathways of delinquent and antisocial behaviour. Numerous studies followed his work. Systematic reviews of his and others' research described between two and seven (mainly 3-5) trajectories.

Background: Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is the most common vasculitis in patients older than 50 years and is considered a "do not miss" diagnosis. However, it remains a diagnostic challenge given overlapping clinical syndromes such as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) and poorly explored imaging findings.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study between the time period of January 2013 and December 2021, a total of 13 consecutive patients with a pathological diagnosis of GCA and 8 patients with clinical diagnosis of NAION were isolated.

Keratin positive giant cell rich tumor is a rare mesenchymal tumor first described in 2025. It can occur in both soft tissue and bone and predominantly affects young women. The tumor's biological behavior remains uncertain despite its low-grade classification.
