Accurate determination of dielectric properties and surface characteristics of two-dimensional (2D) perovskite nanosheets, produced by chemical exfoliation of layered perovskites, is often hindered by exfoliation agent residues such as tetrabutylammonium (TBA). This study investigates the effect of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure duration on the removal of TBA residues from 2D Ca2NaNb4O13- nanosheets deposited on silicon substrates via Langmuir-Blodgett method using atomic force microscopy (AFM). Nanoscale adhesion forces between silicon AFM tips and nanofilms exposed to UV light for 3, 12, 18, and 24 hours were measured.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different manipulation methods and storage environments on the microstructural, chemical, and mechanical properties of calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement. Four sample groups were examined, including nondried (ND-I) and dried (D-I) groups placed directly in an incubator, dried samples stored in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (D-P), and dried samples stored in distilled water (D-W). Various analyses, including Vickers microhardness, compressive strength, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were conducted after incubating the samples for 7 days.

Solar energy sources have garnered significant attention as a renewable energy option. Despite this, the practical power conversion efficiency (PCE) of widely used silicon-based solar cells remains low due to inefficient light utilization. In this study, carbon dots (APCDs) were prepared a hydrothermal method using ammonium polyphosphate and -phenylenediamine, then incorporated into a silicone-acrylic emulsion (CAS) to create a luminescent down-shifting (LDS) layer for solar cells.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA silicon photonics optical phased array with a two-dimensional matrix of antennas is experimentally demonstrated in which the unitary antennas are optimized such that light can be emitted over a high fraction of the overall array surface. This design strategy can be used to obtain a low divergence emitted beam containing a significant fraction of the total emitted power, at the expense of a reduced beam steering range. This type of device can be suited to phase front correction in optical wireless communications systems.
