Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1R) has been extensively studied as a potential therapeutic target for various conditions, including pain management, obesity, emesis, and metabolic syndrome. Unlike orthosteric agonists such as Δ-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) has been identified as a negative allosteric modulator (NAM) of CB1R, among its other pharmacological targets. Previous computational and structural studies have proposed various binding sites for CB1R NAMs.

Performing automatic and standardized 4D TEE segmentation and mitral valve analysis is challenging due to the limitations of echocardiography and the scarcity of manually annotated 4D images. This work proposes a semi-supervised training strategy using pseudo labelling for MV segmentation in 4D TEE; it employs a Teacher-Student framework to ensure reliable pseudo-label generation. 120 4D TEE recordings from 60 candidates for MV repair are used.

Graphene and its derivatives, such as graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO), have propelled advancements in biosensor research owing to their unique physicochemical and electronic characteristics. To ensure their safe and effective utilization in biological environments, it is crucial to understand how these graphene-based nanomaterials (GNMs) interact with a biological milieu. The present study depicts GNM-induced structural changes in a self-assembled phospholipid monolayer formed at an air-water interface that can be considered to represent one of the leaflets of a cellular membrane.

Reoperations can be challenging for patients who experience left and right atrioventricular valve failure after repair of a complete atrioventricular septal defect. Herein, we present a case of a 10-year-old boy who developed dysfunction in left and right atrioventricular valve following surgery for a complete atrioventricular septal defect. The patient underwent successful replacement of his left atrioventricular valve with a mechanical valve due to severe stenosis.
