Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), an X-linked neuromuscular disorder, characterised by progressive immobility, chronic inflammation and premature death, is caused by the loss of the mechano-transducing signalling molecule, dystrophin. In non-contracting cells, such as neurons, dystrophin is likely to have a functional role in synaptic plasticity, anchoring post-synaptic receptors. Dystrophin-expressing hippocampal neurons are key to cognitive functions such as emotions, learning and the consolidation of memories.

Diagnoses and treatments are challenging in settings, where advanced diagnostic tests are unavailable, copper chelating agents are frequently scarce, healthcare professionals lack disease awareness, and medical follow-ups are limited. Prompt diagnoses and treatments help prevent complications, improve patients' quality of life, and ensure a normal life expectancy.

We recruited 2,669 participants with depression from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2005 to 2018 and quantified their frailty status using a 53-item frailty index. Cox proportional hazards models were used to estimate hazard ratios (HR) and their 95% confidence intervals (CI).

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant primary brain cancer with poor prognosis due to the resistant to current treatments, including the first-line drug temozolomide (TMZ). Accordingly, it is urgent to clarify the mechanism of chemotherapeutic resistance to improve the survival rate of patients. In the present study, by integrating comprehensive non-coding RNA-seq data from multiple cohorts of GBM patients, we identified that a series of miRNAs are frequently downregulated in GBM patients compared with the control samples.
