The methods of pedagogical assessment of qualification in postgraduate medical education play a decisive role in assessing both the effectiveness of training and the level of professional competence of physicians. The methods of pedagogical assessment of qualification provide an opportunity to measure and evaluate each of the didactic categories--knowledge, professional competence, practical skills, professional credo. The described methods of assessing the knowledge, professional competence and practical skills can form an objective picture of the level of educational goals achieved (in the process of education) and determine whether the level of professional training of physicians meet professional requirements.

Objectives: Within paramedic education immersive simulation is widely used to teach technical skills, but its application to non-technical aspects of practice, such as research skills, is limited. This study aimed to explore immersive simulation as a tool to teach specific research skills to paramedic students in higher education to investigate its novel capacity beyond the more traditionally considered technical elements of practice.

Methods: A didactic pre-briefing was delivered to undergraduate paramedic students before they undertook an immersive simulation in which they were expected to assess, extricate, and treat a stroke patient, whilst also assessing whether he was suitable to be enrolled onto a clinical trial, provide information on this, and take consent.

Background: Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is an evidence-based pedagogical approach that uses art analysis and structured inquiry to enhance observation, critical thinking, and teamwork, especially in medical training for clinical skills development. This study aimed to compare the short-term and delayed follow-up effects of integrating Visual Thinking Strategies and Visual Thinking Activity (VTA) tasks based on the PRISM Model with Observation Exercises (OE) on medical students' observation skills, including the number of observations, number of words used, and time spent describing observations.

Method: This pre- and post-test experimental study with a control group was conducted among first-year medical students at Gonabad University of Medical Sciences during the 2023-2024 academic year.
