Specific Physical Performances of Young Male Basketball Players in Palestine: An Assessment by Maturity Status.

Children (Basel)

January 2025

Research Laboratory, Exercise Physiology and Physiopathology: From Integrated to Molecular "Biology, Medicine and Health" (LR19ES09), Faculty of Medicine of Sousse, University of Sousse, Sousse 4000, Tunisia.

Objectives: There is a lack of studies that investigate the relationship between anthropometric profiles, biological maturity, and specific physical performances in young male basketball players. This study aimed to evaluate the development of anthropometric characteristics and physical performance across different age and maturity groups among male basketball players in Palestine, as well as to identify the anthropometric factors influencing physical performance within this population.

Methods: A total of one-hundred-fifty male basketball players, aged 12 to 16, participated in this study.

The roles of viruses in tephritid pest multitrophic interactions and an outlook for biological control.

Curr Opin Insect Sci

January 2025

Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. Electronic address:

Tephritid fruit fly pests remain a considerable problem for agricultural fruit production around the world. New control methods that do not rely on synthetic insecticides are increasingly desirable to diversify tephritid pest management programs. Biological control through the release of parasitoid wasps has historically provided effective suppression of fruit fly pests, although molecular factors that influence the success of fruit fly parasitoids are understudied.

Background: The growing demand for esthetic restorative materials highlights the need to evaluate their marginal accuracy and fracture resistance to ensure optimal clinical outcomes for primary molars.

Aim: The aim was to assess the vertical marginal gap distance and fracture resistance of esthetic restorative materials after cyclic loading.

Design: Forty extracted primary molars were randomly divided into four groups: Group I, stainless steel veneered crowns with tooth-colored material; Group II, prefabricated monolithic zirconia crowns; Group III, yttria-partially stabilized zirconia computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) crowns; and Group IV, hybrid ceramic CAD/CAM crowns.

The numerical analysis examines the attributes of magnetohydrodynamic natural convection in a closed cavity including a circular hollow. Because mono and hybrid nanofluids have many applications in thermal engineering and manufacturing, hybrid nanofluids are utilized as the substance within the entire domain. The investigation centers on a closed, trapezoidal-shaped hollow with a heated surface ring.
