The pituitary gland (PG) plays a central role in the production and secretion of pubertal hormones, with documented links to the increase in mental health symptoms during adolescence. Although literature has largely focused on examining whole PG volume, recent findings have demonstrated associations among pubertal hormone levels, including dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), PG subregions, and mental health symptoms during adolescence. Despite the anterior PG's role in DHEA production, studies have not yet examined potential links with transdiagnostic symptomology (i.

The second-generation antipsychotic blonanserin is a highly selective, full antagonist of dopamine D and D and serotonin 5-HT receptors. It is currently prescribed for patients with schizophrenia in Japan. We aimed to develop a population pharmacokinetic model of oral blonanserin, including data from 12 to 77 years old patients, to assess the covariates that influence blonanserin pharmacokinetics and evaluate appropriate dosage regimens in adolescents versus adults.

Background: Achievement of moisture balance can be a critical factor affecting time to closure of nonhealing wounds, and dry wounds can take much longer to heal than those with high exudate levels. Whether the goal of management is to donate moisture to the wound or control excessive fluid until the cause has been identified and addressed, choice of dressing and other wound management products can affect nursing resources, clinical outcomes, concordance, and quality of life for the patient.
Case Reports: The cases discussed illustrate differences in management approaches for dry and wet wounds and show how clinician support tools (eg, tissue type, infection/inflammation, moisture imbalance, epithelial edge advancement [TIME] clinical decision support tool) can facilitate treatment decisions.

Purpose: Sleep deprivation and elevated blood pressure (BP) increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. However, the effects of sleep deprivation on BP response, especially at exercise onset remain unclear. We aimed to elucidate the effects of experimental sleep deprivation (ESD) on resting and exercise BPs, including that at exercise onset, and investigate whether a night-time nap during ESD changes the ESD-altered BP.

Background: The acute effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on blood pressure (BP) may depend on the exercise protocol performed. Purpose: To compare the acute effect of high and low-volume HIIT on post-exercise and ambulatory BP in untrained older females diagnosed with both type 2 diabetes (T2D) and hypertension (HTN). Methods: Fifteen females (69 [65 ─ 74] years) completed a crossover study with three experimental conditions: 1) REST (35 min in sitting position); 2) HIIT10 (10 × 1 min at 90% heart rate max [HRmax]), and 3) HIIT4 (4 × 4 min at 90% HRmax).
